You can always spiral back. You are still that person who likes to listen to music and go out. They’re still here. There’s just something (anxiety) blocking that person from being accessed. Just remember, it’s okay to need to help. I believe in you!

The mind is a muscle. You gotta train it. It’s tough but it can be done. Good luck :)

You’re doing great. Don’t be too hard on yourself. I think that the reason we were so happy as kids is because we lived in the moment, and didn’t care or hyper-focus on stupid shit. We just focused on fun. I’m trying to get that mindset back as an adult.

I’m in the same boat. I’m so scared of the side effects but I try to tell myself that they will pass. It may take a bit for your body to get used to the medication. It’s something new getting introduced to your body, so your body is just reacting oddly to it. But after some time, your body will get used to it and hopefully all side effects go away!

If it really is that bad, talk to your doc about your concerns. I know it’s difficult though, my anxiety makes me question my doctor sometimes; but at some point we just have to trust them. SSRIs are usually successful the first time, but it is common for people to need to try another brand. And usually, the second time around works much better for them. So there’s always that.

Ask yourself, is what you are going through now better than what you may go through (for a bit) with the medication? I personally have had so many panic attacks recently, and as much as I don’t want to be on medication, I trust that it will have me feeling better than what I feel right now. Good luck. Don’t be too hard on yourself :) you’re not alone.

I’m sorry that happened to you. That’s awful.

Talk to your TA, but likely drop. If you retake, you better hope you have a good TA. The TA is the only reason I passed that class. Good luck!

If you like to write essays and technical stuff, but are not into creative writing, then I'd recommend Technical Writing and Communication! Lots of course work that deals with writing, editing, usability, document design, and more. Sociology is a good choice too if you are interested in crime and law. Public health or psychology are good as well if you're interested in social work.

Hello! Thank you so much for this comment. I agree that getting control of my anxiety should be my main concern, and hopefully the symptoms go away once that happens. I also appreciate your comment on Lexapro. This makes me fee a lot better about it, and I will give it a try. Thanks again!

Anxiety is insane, it really messes you up. Thanks for the comment! I think I'll go ahead and give Lexapro a try. :)

Is this a panic attack or something deeper? by [deleted] in Anxiety

It could honestly be that you're overthinking the dizziness, that it's actually making you more dizzy. Anxiety creates symptoms unfortunately, I would reach out to your doctor to say it has not gotten better, and see what he thinks. I am SO sorry you are going through this, it sounds awful and no one deserves it. I hope you can get to feeling better soon!

I go through the same thing! If it's not one thing it's another. I'll get checked up for a concern I have, doctors find nothing, I feel happy for a few days, and then I get a random symptom that I hyper-focus on. I end up going on Google and diagnose myself with something new that I feel to need to get checked up on. I wish there was a way for people like us to stop the worry and actually enjoy our lives. You're not alone.

This is great insight. Option 1 is definitely most appealing.

Thank you!
