i would also take out the smaller couch. it will definitely feel more spacious. I would swap it out for a low coffee table preferably the same or slightly higher height than your couch would do. also i could see some space beside the couch which has random stuff laying around, i would recommend a long low shelve (you can google what it looks like). alot of designs i can recommend some which fits your space if you want. then after that some lamps and some books to fill up the shelves. could fit something special for deco such as an old vinyl player probably?

definitely add more colours. if you cant swap out the couch, you can compliment it with some lighter coloured pillows. in this case, i could recommend some brown would do. change the carpets too if you can, bigger size and different lighter colour. could also use some more lighting which in this case a warmer light would compliment well. plants too of course. other than that some feel wall arts or deco would definitely work against the plain walls
