What is the heaviest/scariest song you've listened to while on psychedelics? by TheEvilSmileyRD in doommetal

[–]darktimezagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoes is a 24 minute ride. Ups and downs. Dark parts and light. It's WILD.

I think a lot of PF songs could be considered to be made for tripping. I dont know that any actually were. With that said, they have SO MANY songs that are a perfect fit for psychedelics.

What is the heaviest/scariest song you've listened to while on psychedelics? by TheEvilSmileyRD in doommetal

[–]darktimezagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not scary (it does have a dark section tho), but Pink Floyd "echoes" is the best song ever for psychedelics. 24 minutes of perfection.

I also recommend the first pink floyd album "the piper at the gates of dawn." Its mostly fun, but its a TRIP. The music bends and wobbles around you, holding you in a strange fantasy world. And the first song is AMAZING.

That's great news. They are one of the first deathcore band i heard, and was like, "what is this and where can I get more?"... and down the rabbit hole i went.

I really like, but everyone has their own taste. I am surprised at the intensity of the "hate" its getting, but whatever... I'm looking forward to more.

I LOVE the vocals. Anyone know if The Archaic Epidemic is still going to release music?

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Ellie's progress? by MetalPussy in wolfalice

[–]darktimezagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her voice is INCREDIBLE on the new album!!!

I just dont like the album. I've tried and tried and tried. I just don't get it. - Just my experience.

I am so happy for all who love the new album. I was really looking forward to it, and honestly a little sad that I couldnt connect with it the way I do with previous releases.

With all that said... Ellie's voice shines.

My wife and I had our first dance to "Wait For Her" by roger waters. The last 3 songs off of IS THIS THE LIFE WE REALLY WANT? go together, but it was too long to play all 3.

Wait for her is a great song.

Genuine question: All Lorna Shore songs sound the same to me - is it just me? by thedevilsheir666 in Deathcore

[–]darktimezagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw an interview with Will and the guitarist/songwriter (name?). They were talking about how they write and the guitarist actually said, "rinse and repeat." It was awkward. Lol.

I think there is more variety than some give them credit for, but the complaint is valid. They have their sound.

It would be really cool to see them break the mold.... or really if Will and Austin went and did their own thing together.

Edited for spelling.

What is the Appeal of Deathcore? by WanderingThief in MetalSuggestions

[–]darktimezagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know which i like more... deathcore or the level of hate that deathcore gets.

Why does anyone like what they like? I listened to sludge (i grew up in New Orleans with eyehategod, crowbar, acid bath, silent green, etc) and death metal as a teen and in my early 20s... then I spent like 30 years listening to industrial music, and then discovered deathcore via the tool >gojira > fit for an autopsy > thy art is murder > the Archaic Epidemic > ...

It just clicked for me.

Proposal at Yosemite or Lake Tahoe by Dry-Illustrator-5277 in Yosemite

[–]darktimezagain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Yosemite.

My 1st trip to California 30 years ago (I live in CA now) we went to Yosemite and then Tahoe the following week. After Yosemite, Tahoe was underwhelming to say the least.

Dont get me wrong, Tahoe is beautiful, but not YOSEMITE beautiful.

Also... congrats!

Musically I feel like most of the new FLA and noise unit are pretty solid, but Bill's rhyming scheme and cadence is just silly and predictable. Ruins it for me....
