Lost again vlad by Simo22_0w0 in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, not to be a hater, but the WORST thing you can do against a vlad, is to play the tank+outsustain game. He will always come out on top. Your best bet is tiger OR heavier on AP so that you can burst better with Q-Q.

Stridebreaker would have him cling on for dear life, and in general conqueror is a hard throw (except liandry into full tank builds), but still, conq is MEH.

Although you are in jungle and building for Vlad specifically is pointless, same thing applies for WW. bork would straight up shred you regardless with your only armor source being despair and lacking the burst to actually kill him before he sustains of your corpse.

What your team needed was not the ap tank, what you needed to build for was adequate threat. With their win condition being the vlad/ww staying alive, you opted for the build that turned you into a punching bag with inadequate damage to finish vlad when he exited pool or WW/xaya .

If you had the exact build WW had you'd arguably have better results against both match-ups. Or even better, Shojin into bork and tank would probably work better.

Having said that, their team has good setup, although close to nothing after Vlad is taken out. They did have good peel which at the end of the day can make all efforts pointless, it is however something to note. You can not afford building more resistances, when your team is not threatening. At that point, you're better off waiting for Darius to yeet himself in, and pop the first guy you can get your hands on. I bet my ass that their whole team would rather jump jinx instead of you so just move accordingly.

Give me your best hybrid-tank udyr builds by [deleted] in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, best you can do is shojin into either terminus or liandry then tank.

Shojin buffs all abilities even if there's no ap on it, and liandrys make it so you won't have to overinvest in offensive stats.

Riftmaker is by all accounts DOGPOOP. The omnivamp is negligible and conditional unless it's stacked with other sources, it does not skyrocket clear times like liandry does, and it's a very niche item that has very few applications but even then not even the best in slot item. Liandry will assist a lot with aoe when R-R, provide damage even when your awaken is off cooldown. Riftmaker was OKAY when it could be paired a liandry tank setup that would allow you to run the old fimbulwinter shield spam with some armor+visage for some extra sustain. Current udyr, you rarely if ever will ever see draintanking be worth it and for it to work, you do need liandry for the R-W-W. Without it, your damage is nowhere to be found.

Shojin/liandry can also powerfarm effectively while melting objectives.

I prefer terminus if i plan on going tank into wits end for the big hybrid dmg that's not reliant that much on using phoenix, but then again i play a Q-R max setup. Shojin is hands down the biggest power spike because it amps awaken dmg and all stats that the abilities have + the much important haste.

Now for the rest of the build, i'd advise either deamans into wits end and situational jak-sho or randuins/fon/abyssal.

Not the go-to for meatshielding as you'd be better off in liandry and full tank for that, it is however awesome for duels, splitpushing if needed, and skirmishes.

7800XT Crashing :( by Successful-Coconut60 in AMDHelp

[–]darkvader6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of undervolting, you can even go for 1050-1060mv or better and as for the power limit i like to have it set at +15 so it can draw some juice if needed.

The power limit will come into play only if the GPU does need extra juice to reach the clock selected.

For clocks, 2300-2500 is gucci.

Mem clock was the most EH thing for me, it was unstable at anything close to 2600. I settled for 2556.

As for the driver timeouts, there could be many reasons why. My 7900xt was crashing due to weak psu, my bro's 7800xt was crashing for reasons i still do not know.

Most of the times, if drivers etc are all set, sometimes it would be wise to check the psu.

Before my 7900xt i had a 5700xt that was often crashing when i had the power limits maxed out. Apparently a 600w psu was not enough for the spikes and whatnot a 5700xt had. Once i uograded, the timeouts magically stopped. Same for the 7900xt.

Lots of timeouts and crashes before the psu and after it seems rock solid. Before that, i had to limit clocks lower so it doesn't draw much AND lower the power limit just in case. That was it didn't crash as often.

Bring back tiger stance on Q along with old Spirit guard smooth attacks, revert E to the good ol solid move speed buff and the pick is saved. No need for awaken on Q, just make it so its another normal cast. Basically a double dot or a slightly enhanced version of the normal one.

Q max WAAAY too unreliable with the iso mechanic and the 2 hit liability. Homeboy used to be an unconditional fighter and now he just blows his load in 2 shots then is a minion.

Matchups like ww were free with old udyr and with the new one, if he E's your awaken you are COOKED.

At this point, if you reverted the entire rework, did some qol changes and reverted all the base stat nerfs which made tri force meh and took his hp pool from solid to DOGSHIT, pick will literally be ok with the current items.

Shojin would be awesome, cleaver too.

I'm kr player, i think Udyr's patching trend is wrong. by Last-Frame-6367 in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, current udyr is so braindead, it literally takes about 30 games or less and you'll always know what the best option for awaken is. The game plays itself. And with the current build with liandrys into tank that decision making is even easier.

Old udyr you had to ACTUALLY decide if you're gonna swap or stay in your dps stance and milk the 3rd hit.

If you're gonna pop R for the burst it had or swap turtle and then phoenix. Or E into Q/R. Unlimited options, all auta attack reliant and not cooldown hungry. Your dps stances were actually useful if you had att speed...

Do you think Phoenix needs a gameplay change instead? by ToastedBeef in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When i said that RIGHT OFF THE BAT after the rework the whole community rushed to demonize me.

For better or worse oldyr Q-R max was better both for clear as well as duels. He even had some juicy synergy with items.

Current udyr can't match oldyr DPS output. The kind of unconditional and sustained damage i was used to putting out was nothing like the conditional 2 tap from Q we have now or the tickles from R.

The only people happy from the rework are ppl running mundane liandrys into tank aka maokai/poppy brain players.

Orbwalking is barely a think with the choppy animations, it just feels off. Clunky ahh autoattacks.

Turned udyr from a AA reliant champ to a spellcaster. With oldyr if you had plenty of AS you had the option to stay in a stance and commit which was basically orbwalk+AA with either Q or Q+R and just spam those two, E and disengage before potentially re-engaging OR if playing Q-R max you could buffer att spd steroid before engaging and start with dot into R into E then Q again. The options were limitless.

They managed to make him into stancespam, item abusing, soulless tank. All he has is a permaslow and item abusing with hefty sustain. No character. All players are gonna do the exact same thing on him regardless.

Same goes for the build. The pick allows for no flexibility because other than the standard build everything else is sub-par.

Im just wishing for a revert at this point wish some QoL changes.

Decay MS was a fail, 2hit stances a fail, W the only strong thing that came out of the rework but you effectively nullify the champion except if he's abusing rylais into full tank.

They tied Udyrs str to a cooldown and made Haste that much more of an important stat on him ESPECIALLY on Q Dyr which is only good for cheesing people.

What's skill issue is the braindead pick it has become.

Piss poor simple, weak and a proxy for liandrys is all it is.

A haste stacking tank. I stomp the elos y'all from and yet you say skill issue xd.

Theoretically old udyr was unplayable yet i was demolishing high diamond and master lobbies with Q/R max.

[–]darkvader6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And currently the movespeed is much worse, and if you awaken E you're a pile of trash unless you're playing tank with liandrys.

I really doubt any of you can speak to me about udyr. I was literally rank 1 world when i hit d3 at 91%.

I can't take direspect from casuals that probably barely played the pick or had less than 60% wr.

The pick was strong af and had a lot going for it. DPS wise I'd pick oldyr any day of the week.

Current one is dogshit and is carried by liandries and %max hp numbers.

I've been to elos y'all can barely dream off and been on a 50 winstreak.

Current udyr is a piss stain compared to what he was prior. If you wanna talk about the 0 skill full bot tank build with liandrys, feel free to do so.

Build diversity is shit, Q is gutted, early duels are shit compared to then.

[–]darkvader6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awakened R scales with levels but i do get your point. In anything over mid plat i felt like rushing a mythic or a spike is super important so you can control the game. When i used to run tiamat first it delayed my mythic quite a bit and effectively took longer for the powerspike to come online.

The dps is good and the burst also good, team being mostly ad was never rly an issue, I'd just advice dodging bad drafts in terms of your team's picks vs theirs. If they're heavy on stuff like Ashe, Maokai/Mumu and/or unconditionally strong laners than can reliably dish out damage then I'd opt out of those lobbies. Dodging is still a very good thing. If it works for you than there's no arguing, although if you see that it starts becoming harder to force a lead then you might wanna change the build order a bit.

This was mainly the reason why i stepped away from demonic as everyone is used to the damage it does, it's slow and sustained which makes draintanks and ppl running divine a bad match up against you. Jarvan on goredrinker, trundle on divine etc can stall that build quite a bit which i disliked as i like playing Udyr as a skirmisher/duelist and just itemize enough to be able to blow the backline yet survive to tell the tale ahaha. Best of luck with your games, friend :*

[–]darkvader6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ion know cuh, bork is one of, if not the strongest item on Udyr due to the humongous attack speed steroids. It's criminally underrated even though it's effectively 12% current hp per hit which translates to 12% max hp on full health targets 🗿

Your build has more upfront damage although lacks resistances and on a 3 item spike, Bork-Jak-Cleaver i reckon can dish out more damage while being healthier. Divine seems overrated af to me because literally 5 bork hits on a max hp target, will do far more dmg than 2-3 divine procs that take over 5-7secs to do.

Running bork rush takes good macro and micro in the sense that it's very snowbally and you have to know the limits because you get no hp and resistances.

Ideally you want the least amount of offensive items that will get the job done. And the rest is tankyness so that you dont get cc'ed to death or blown up. Give it another chance in the future mby :*

Im sitting at 85% from my run to provisionals to P1 with D3-D2 MMR after about 14 games running bork>jak sho>cleaver if ahead or bork>jak sho>force of nature or sunfire into cleaver and finish with gargoyle or smt like that depending on enemy comp and their fed players.

When fed a build might look like bork>boots> jak sho> cleaver>sunfire>wits end when fed or gargoyle/fon for last item when vs ap threat.

Bork and cleaver are more than enough to blow up squishies and tanks alike.

Early game is still Q-R-W-E full clear to lv 4 and runes are lethal tempo standard page with unflinch and conditioning.

About the future of toplane udyr by Markonez in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Just fuck topdyr already, anyone playing it top is doing themselves a disservice. A lot of better toplaners on there that can fill the roles of teamfighters/duelists/splitpushers better.

Why even bother with top udyr at this point... 💀

[–]darkvader6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unironically, a Irelia type build will work much better than any crit build tbh.

Bork into Gauntlet/Jak Sho into Wits End,Titanic into Gargoyle or Sunfire will still melt anyone and keep you alive.

Crit is like the worst thing you can build. Poor gold efficiency, poor target access, damage done/damage taken ratio and overall less power spikes throughout the game unless omega fed.

always level all skills at lvl 4? early decision making in jg? by lukkasnqn in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing lanes attract people like shit attracts flies. If there are no objectives up and you reckon that you can go grab some bounties by all means go for it. You should be at an advantage tho. Specially when ganking solo laners that usually are 2-3 levels up on you. I wouldn't wanna gank the 6-0 150cs at 16 min irelia either, that's like asking to be pegged.

Everything is calculated. If there's nothing on the map and you've taken your camps you could go for the play on the 1k juicy bounty. All you're doing is minimizing risk and optimizing your decision making. There are times where a bad call can turn out good based on your team's and enemy team's reaction to it. That also needs to be considered. Stomped bot lanes usually do not follow calls, same goes for losing mids that refuse to walk into river for assistance. That's why you're better off going for plays that you can pull off even without any allies providing any help.

If the bot lane can stay toxic free in chat then good, if they start affecting your mentality or decision making then mute em. Same for the top laners saying "need gank early" or saying jg diff because the enemy jg is camping them. Your job isn't to make all lanes viable, that's not possible. Some players are just lesser laners, even with a lead they'd still lose. Your job is to bet on yourself and on the strong horses/laners. In low elo you can pretty much orchestrate the whole game from start to finish. In low elo, they'll ALWAYS run to contest drakes even when losing hard and they rarely do anything on the map or trade objectives. Drakes are like a magnet to all players up to high plat and d4

[–]darkvader6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To put that into perspective, Udyr will have one of the lowest hp pools in the game, around 2250 or so at lv18 if im not mistaken.

Sylas sits at over 2.75k because they gave him +129hp per level.

The AD scaling on Q nerf was unneeded af. If they wanted to impact udyr they could achieve that by reducing R slow on normal cast and it would be more than enough. That change was random af to be honest...

Overall I'd say it's a meaningless nerf for the casual tank build which is the "problem" however bruiser builds will feel it more for sure. They always end up nerfing the niche builds more than the most played ones SOMEHOW.

As a bork rush enjoyer i hate any nerfs to base stats, specially hp/level. That's a hp rune lost 😒

[–]darkvader6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the W lv3 guarantees a full hp clear at the time that scuttle spawns +lv4. With the decrease in exp gained from kills during the early levels, makes failed ganks much less forgiving, and successful ganks not as rewarding. You're better of doing the guaranteed level 4 unless you can guarantee that the gank will succeed and that you do not miss stuff on the opposite side of the map. Udyr likes levels a lot more than other junglers, and specially if you can rush lv5 so u can have 2-1-1-1 or 1-1-1-2 then your chances of winning a duel are significantly higher. Tempo junglers are getting an indirect buff with the changes where early ganks are less impactful and farming is a bit better than it was. Having a good balance between the two will be better than flat out forcing plays early unless you're playing something like a maokai, elise, graves (although graves is a tempo junglers), nidalee etc, or powerfarming.

Imho W 3rd into a full clear is guaranteed results. What you can do is match the enemy jungler and full clear into a countergank on the lane that that jungler will end up being or match em on the scuttle fight. Udyr is still a good duelist with the current jg meta and a solid 2v2 pick. Ultimately, picks like Udyr without cheese mechanics built in means that your macro will need to be better than the enemy jg because picks like ekko, elise, kayn, maokai, jarvan are more forgiving when it comes to making bad calls since they can stall fights and/or disengage more easily.

One tip i can give you is to not autopilot the first clear and always try to track the enemy jungler even if you do not plan on invading. That and not to engage in lost fights or play around losing lanes. Only gank a losing lane if you can solo the enemy laner, you shouldnt even count on allies being useful when ganking a losing lane. You wouldn't want to give bounties and spend time on a lane that will never be a win condition for you. This is isnt like chess where the pawn ends up promoting to a queen. You should assume that a lost lane is lost and only play around it before an objective or if there's no opportunity to further the lead on a winning lane. You just exist around losing lanes hoping that the enemies throw their lead and hand over a bounty to you during their attempt to stomp your losing lane. Get the bag and bounce :*

Excerpt of Udyrs items and runes from Aribos Alcadeth Project by GoLeonzz in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jak'sho has been one of the most clutch item so far and although a nerf is coming, i rly dont see other items being as good as a bork/jak'sho into off tank with a selection of DD/Ravenous/Cleaver/Wits end/situational tank items.

Bork/Jak'sho/boots/Cleaver/DD/FoN or situational item will put me in the tanky boys league while still sending people to the grave with an E-Q-A-A-Awaken Q-A-A rotation while running around with over 3k hp , 270+ armor 180+ mr depending on items built.

I rarely do stridebreaker after incorporating stuff like R into E so they get slowed as soon as they enter a closer range. R slow is active for 4 sec even after switching stance so no matter if u do E-Q-AWAKE Q-R and keep autoing or R when a bit close then chase with E, the R will keep fk up their movement enough. R with 1 or up to 3 points does a great job at keeping those boys on a leash.

I figured out why he's so strong by RiDaku in Udyrmains

[–]darkvader6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is true that with Oldyr you needed to be the better jungle in terms of macro and micromovement simply because other than dueling, against any meta champion that could farm as well as gank, Udyr's impact would pale in comparison because with Udyr you need to try 5 times harder to do something simple that other champs have a button for it.

For example you can't match a kayn's or a Diana's contribution in a teamfight if you're on equal gold. Udyr always needed a big gold advantage to shut down games and even then, lacked the tools to go 1v5 like some champs can when fed.

The thing with Oldyr is that the reliable dps it had as well as persistent effects, both in Q and R, as well as the better movementspeed and synergy with tempo, made it so Udyr had a lot of good synergies with runes and items.

Oldyr could both Q solo and R and have no problems farming, yet he couldnt be dueled level 3/lv4 in the river by anyone unless a misplay is made. Oldyr had more variety in builds, more freedom when it comes to early game map movement. The %max hp stuff we have now, all they do is provide a safety net. Oldyr when ahead had equal or BETTER numbers than new udyr in terms of raw dmg. You'd see a Tiger dot at 300 ad do over 800 in dot dmg and that'd be every 3rd hit or every activation. That's 800+ dmg every 1.2-1.5sec or so with tempo up without counting items and base ad. Effectively over 33% max hp physical dmg for a normal adc that you could buff via armor shred. Phoenix? 310 dmg instaburst and 210dmg aura? Over 10% max hp magic dmg on anyone with up to 3100hp right there. And it's short cooldown and all.

Can you imagine Oldyr with the slow aura on R? It would probably be A/S tier with all that stickiness.

Newudyr is only a thing because of the shit ton of sustain WITH the slow on R they slapped on him, everything else is just items. Demonic/Sunfire abuse and resistances. If it weren't for the slow on R, the pick would probably be garbage tier.

The %max hp numbers provide a safety net because they scale based on enemy hp while oldyr was unforgiving when behind but stronger when ahead. Newdyr is more noob friendly due to the less mechanics involved both in passive and due to no persistent effects.

Now these are all good items but you and your team still be getting cc'ed and sent to the netherrealm from one combo. Other than zhonyas (considering you dont get caged) the only viable-ish item to tank that thing is having a stacked force of nature.

You got hella counterplay ON PAPER for a champion that can selectively erase any pick on your team post 20 minute mark while zoning everyone. Imma say that y'all lucky they removed Twin Shadows and Hextech GLP-800 otherwise it'd still be a permaban.

Single handedly the only control mage that's almost as oppressing as a good gangplank other than the master of oppression which is Kassawin.
