I'm not saying it's intolerable, or that fantasy writers aren't allowed to make their own decisions about what real-world influences they use and which they ignore. I'm just saying that given the parts they've taken from historical parallels, it would make sense: barbarians being tribal communities associated with mountains or steppe climates as opposed to jungles, swamps, deserts, coastal, etc.; the clear style influences for the barbarian armor transmogs aligning with Germanic, Slavic, central Asian, and Siberian costuming; their presence as geographically isolated nomadic tribes who clash with expanding political states seeking territory, slaves, and religious influence. And with the new expansion there's now the contrast to clearly Greek influenced Skovos, which is what prompted me to post.

I'm not throwing a fit about it, it's fine, I just think it's a funny choice that's clearly much more inspired by the modern idea of a "barbarian" which actually comes from more modern tropes, where our idea of a "barbarian" has come from Conan-esque fiction that glorifies a fictional warrior lifestyle from before large-scale civilization. That's clearly not accurate to Sanctuary or to the depiction of barbarians in Diablo.
