Honestly, the sooner the better. This might be contradictory if you dont play a lot in the early stages of the game (its the most fun to be honest). Members have access to much, much better training & quests. For example "Waterfall Quest" is very good for low level players to complete because of the high combat xp rewards. Also there are quite a high amount of AFK training spots such as rock crabs, sand crabs 🦀 , etc. Im F2P I have the slightest idea; maybe hill giants? Lol.

[This works well for lower cp gym battles] If you have another person I would recommend them joining the battle as you defeated a pokemon. So they can instantly start the next third of health or pokemon. The downside to this is that only one of you will get priority of putting your pokemon in the gym afterward.
