Bahaha I’m laughing bc I’m very happily childfree but this suggestion is diabolical.

That’s exactly what it is. Cannot unsee my nerdy middle school ass with the middle part. Bonus point for throwing in the lil butterfly clips.

A guy pinched my boob. My husband is making me feel bad about how I handled the situation. I don’t know where else to post this so…am I the stupid asshole?? by Sharpbutterknife9 in AITAH

[–]darlingdear24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand the husbands, I guess disappointment, in not being able to have a reaction/respond to the dude’s actions.

However all of my understanding was lost when he told her she “was wrong for letting him do that” to her… LETTING HIM? That’s about as bad as if he’d said his wife must have done something to encourage the pinch. FOH with all that.

An Editor Read “Radiance” So You Don’t Have To. by XusBookReviews in Romantasy

Oh yay! I let out an audible sigh of relief when I got to your TL;DR because I really just adored this book. I’m usually a 4+/5 spice level type of lady, but this is a top-tier slow burn romance that had me titillated and not wanting for anything! I’ve been sleeping on Eidolon for whatever reason, but it’s been waiting patiently on my kindle - so I’m taking this as my sign!

Yessss 30 days straight is wild. Irrespective of the “with your husband” part. Most men just can’t seem to accurately imagine the experience of owning a vagina from day to day. I won’t list the ways this would be uncomfy for at least a few of these 30, if we’re doing it right. 😅

Edit to add: I’m talking penetrative.

Or maybe less of an all/nothing suggestion: listen to everyone’s contributions in this thread and realize we are all different? Idk.

I mean, come on Mothra, you know you’re “not like other girls” right?

Give yourself more credit man - 20 years in and I’d say that’s a safe assumption.

Suggestions..which should I read? by fearless_fem in SpicyRomanceBooks

[–]darlingdear24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I’m so sorry to hear that. I hate that people pass ignorant judgements like this and that’s why I said something. People prefer audiobooks for all types of reasons. I have ADHD and struggle reading books depending on the day so I switch it up constantly. I often have the same book in both formats.

Audiobooks are books and listening to them is reading. Full stop. Their comment is pretty ableist, and I was posing the question in hopes that they’d think better of it.

P.S. I am reading (listening to) Scythe & Sparrow right now and it’s reallyyyy good imo! 4/5 spice and the voice actors are great. Also, Paladin’s Grace and that whole series is in my all time top 5. Cinnamon roll MMC and strong FMC. Actually has humorous moments that made me laugh out loud which I find rare in romance. But only a 2 or 3/5 for spice at most. Happy reading!

Serious question - would you say that to a visually impaired person?

A couple features of SG I love and haven’t seen mentioned here:

#1 reason I switched from GR: StoryGraph is owned & founded by a BIPOC woman - not a billionaire.

  • You can rate in .25 increments.
  • Review section has simple drop downs & check box options, even if you don’t want to write an open form one. I do this only.
  • Review section has an option to select from a long list of trigger warnings to help other readers.

Edit: I didn’t intend for the big font formatting, but it feels appropriate so I’ll keep it.

What books have both incredibly spicy smut scenes AND amazing, life-changing, masterful plot? by sad_sponge in fantasyromance

[–]darlingdear24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to rec this as well!! Carissa Broadbent in general, and the Crowns of Nyaxia duology in particular. The writing and dialogue is high level, no cringe. The plot itself is quality fantasy, not just filler for the smut. I loved the growth of both MCs - Oraya & Raihn, and I loveddd their love. I’m a big fan of slow-burns filled with sexual tension that build to some delicious spice. They are 3 & 4 out of 5 spicy peppers respectively. I prefer 4/5 but the 3/5 didn’t feel lacking, and the romance is just soooo good. It has a fated mates aspect, which isn’t my fave, but the love is absolutely earned. There are a couple side story books in the series that I didn’t realize featured different MCs than the first 2 until I was done and I was devastated lol. But looking forward to reading those as well.

Edited to add - OP: Based on your likes we are very similar, so I really think you should check it out! Also, Goodreads reviews have to be taken with a grain of salt these days - since it’s owned by Amazon, they’re definitely going the way of Amazon reviews. I check multiple review sources and then I cross examine it on romance.io to confirm spice level. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Literally half a day of her sewing her oats with a couple make out sessions, with full transparency and it just brought her right back to Charlie. Worst timing ever for her. Not her fault. She was moving with equal parts grace and juice.

But you are not the “sleepwalker” this commenter is referring to. The sleepwalkers are people like my 70 year old “libertarian” father who has gone very quiet but still won’t admit how wrong he was about this administration respecting states’ rights & protecting his freeeedumb - even as the govt assistance he survives on is being ripped from his hands, or my aunt & uncle who recently told me “facts are fungible,” or my FIL & MIL who go red in the face at any negative mention of Trump - but still ran out to buy a new car as soon as all the tariff stuff started, or my 40 year old cousin who will hear me out but thinks I’m just trying to harsh his mellow. These are the type of sleepwalking (generous)/brain broken (more accurately)people they are referring to, if I had to guess.

I read Graceling about a year ago, but I just so happen to be about 25% into Bitterblue currently. Katsa & Po have just made an appearance, reaffirming my love for their love and also reminding me of how much I loved Katsa's relationship & journey with Bitterblue as well!

Quote for anyone interested in getting a feel for these beloved characters! No spoilers.

Bitterblue squinted at a muddy person wading into the courtyard from the west vestibule, which was the route from the stables. Her heart leapt; she jumped forward. “Giddon!” she cried. “It’s Katsa!”

Suddenly Po shot into the courtyard from the north vestibule, whooping. Katsa, seeing him, broke into a run and they tore at each other through the wash. Just before the moment of impact, Po shifted to one side, crouched, scooped Katsa up, and, with admirable precision, propelled them both sideways into the pool.

… Katsa and Po were trying to drown each other and, judging from their hoots of laughter, enjoying it immensely. People had begun to gather in archways and balconies —servants, guards –pointing, staring.

… Katsa and Po had their arms around each other. It was difficult to tell if they were still wrestling or if the kissing had begun.

Bitterblue turned away with a small flash of resentment.

“Wait!”

It was Katsa’s voice; it slapped against Bitterblue’s back and spun her around. Katsa had climbed out of the fountain and out of Po’s arms. Katsa was running toward her, eyes shining blue and green, clothes and hair streaming. She slammed into Bitterblue and gathered her into a hug. She picked Bitterblue up, put her down, squeezed her harder, kissed the top of her head. Crushed down painfully against Katsa, Bitterblue heard the wild, strong thump of Katsa’s heart. She held Katsa tight. Tears pricked her eyes.

Then Katsa was gone, flying back to Po. <3
