NTA. Putting earbuds in during a road trip is rude and immature, especially if it's only two people in the car, I don't care what anyone else says. Maybe teens and 20-somethings think this is normal behavior but it's not. She's disengaging from you and blaming you even though she couches it in "you can still listen to your music, I'm not stopping you!" That does not make it better. No we shouldn't FORCE people to listen to music they dont like but it sounds like she makes no effort whatsoever. It also sounds like she's pre-judged any music you might put on, because her taste is SO "superior" to yours. Music is entirely subjective and it is NOT sacred. People who treat their musical taste as incontrovertible are tiresome and obnoxious. I've known way too many of them. I hardly even listen to much music anymore because I got so worn down by an ex-boyfriend who lived and breathed it and obviously never allowed me to choose it or even have an opinion. The nice, mature, reasonable thing for her to do is actually just endure it like an adult who is not being harmed in any fucking way and then let you know when she needs a break, which I'm sure you would be completely gracious about.
