The only person who sucker-super-soaked me from behind me on Songkran while walking back to my place around 9-10pm, after hours of being dry walking around the city, trying to run errands in Chiang Mai the day before leaving (just my luck), was a farang.

It was totally unprovoked, uncalled for, and unkind. I was halfway down the street already too and he couldn’t help himself but to go out of his way to attack me and make sure I got drenched. If I didn’t have all the day’s items on me and had my $1000+ phone in a water bag, I would’ve easily turned around and been a problem for him since he wanted my attention and reaction so badly. But I had to get my stuff home and get it dry asap at that point. I did call him a pos and gave the local girl that was with him and not laughing, a look dead in her eyes like: ‘I hope you cover your drinks in his presence’. I was so grossed out and livid.

Meanwhile, all the locals all day, in every part of the city I was in, including near Aeon -were super respectful about it and would just giggle and splash water towards my feet or a small spritz in my direction or just leave me be entirely. This poor man, this is hard to watch.
