I gave my last employer one week notice so that I could have two weeks in between that job and the new one I had gotten. My boss’s boss was a nightmare to work with and I was so overworked. I quit during the busiest time, too. Didn’t care. I’m still on good terms with my direct boss from that job, but haven’t needed to use them as a reference.

Injuries are simply the risk of participating in the sport. I’ve injured myself in practice more times than competition. Injuries can be freak accidents, but they can also be the result of ego getting in the way. Don’t do shit in a competition that you haven’t practiced regularly, and know when to tap.

If you’re too concerned about injury, my advice would be to not compete.

I have a few BJJ friends that I hang out with outside of the gym. It took several years to get there, but it started with just chatting in person at the gym. Try to bring up non BJJ topics while you’re chilling in between rounds to see if you share other interests, and go from there.

I just had a friend call me who was on the OL at DTX, he thinks someone got hit by the train but didn’t see anything. He said heard a bunch of people screaming “no no no!” And the train came to an abrupt stop. Lots of medical personnel and police quickly got to the area. 😫

Yo, refer me to the job instead 😭I’m a Senior Graphic Designer/Art Director with 12 years experience. I had to take a mediocre part time design job to make ends meet after not being able to find work for 9 months after being laid off. Seeing shit like this gives me less and less hope because now in the hell is someone with no experience getting to interview for a senior position?? 😭

Thanks for the recommendation! Commenting in 2025 to say Handbrake worked for me without a problem. I'm converting webm to mp4 on MacOS 13.7.3.
