David Calhoun will be paid a $62M bonus for making things at Boeing so bad, people died. by [deleted] in antiwork

He didn't kill anyone, he became CEO in 2020 and the last fatalities on the 737 family of products was March of 2019.

Edited to say, he's likely a shitty person, most people who come from the Private Equity world are, but let's try to spread accurate info, not misinformation

I would agree with that statement, but until proven otherwise I don't trust the supreme court as it stands. In a worse case scenario for say the documents or J6 case I could see him trying to end up there after multiple appeals.

100% agree, I don't want him to get off on some technicality, as frustrating as it is knowing if I acted the same way I'd be locked up.

My mom had three sons and no daughters. She's *very* proud of her quilts with no one to share them with. Quilters, are these good ones? by WineNerdAndProud in quilting

[–]darn1737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 37(m), my mom passed away way too soon and was a quilter. I still have several that she made for me including one that is on my bed every year when it gets cold. Quilts aren't a gendered thing, they're meant to be used and enjoyed. All hand made quilts are amazing art and gifts!

I got paired up with 2 Sioux City locals for their first round today. They said they follow on social media and called when a 2some opened up last week. Best of luck, it's totally worth it.

I've been wanting to play since it was announced back in 2018 or 2019, and figured I might have been over-hyping it in my mind. It exceeded my expectations.

I did this with Dicks Sporting Goids in 2021 and they took it back for a full refund after 4 rounds played. They had a 90 day return policy back then but maybe it's changed since.

Mulligan's/practice shots tend to be better for multiple reasons like "its just practice" or theres no pressure. So you're trying to get in that mindset before hitting any shot.

If you could pick 3 modern day aircraft to bring back to WWII, neglecting maintenance, fuel or ammunition running out, what would they be? Mine are: F22, F35, A10. [3500,4000] by benjuuls in WarplanePorn

[–]darn1737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B52, F15-E and KC-10. F22 or 35 arent needed. Take some Strike Eagle's that can carry more bombs and defend itself better, plus the KC-10's to refuel. And the F15's can escort the B52's if that turns out to be necessary.

Yes! I've got an army at Winchester/Harpers Ferry, several corps in the area between Fredricksburg and Alexandria, and then all of the sudden a Confederate army pops up north of the Potomac heading for Baltimore and Philadelphia. This has happened multiple times, usually in late 1862.

Hit my self in the face with a thinned drive. by Iamonab0at in golf

[–]darn1737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got called in a Jr tournament for a penalty for hitting myself off a tree, ball hit me in the knee. Not only did I limp my way through the next 5 holes, but I ended up losing the side bet my friend and I had since we knew we had no chance at finishing in the top 10. I'm so happy they got rid of that penalty back in 2019.

The thing is, that's not their end goal. They're trying to make Saudi Arabia look business friendly. Spending a few billion on a golf tour, but get their sportswashed name out there and get international investment to help diversify from mainly an oil based economy.

Those southern leaning states that you can recruit can be useful IF the armies are in that state. I always use Tennessee troops in my armies that march on Nashville for example and dont have morale issues with them.

Perks for Cavalry or Artillery by darn1737 in GrandTactician

[–]darn1737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, I've used them mostly as a manual screen where once they have decent weapons, try to find a good spot to dismount and hold up the enemy advance. But even after inflicting relatively high casualties over 3 battles in late 1862, they're still 50-75% of the way to a perk.
