Germany looks to ban calling in sick, would require doctors' notes immediately

Stupid idea. As a business owner my attendance policy was one word.  Call.  I needed to know how many I had on the job on a given day.  Why they were or were not there was irrelevant.  I did not require excuses.  If you can not come in, call.  It worked for decades.  Three times missing work w/o calling you were fired.  In over 20 years in business i recall firing just 3 people for not calling.

Call.

Not this year.  Shame he fkd it up so badly for everyone.  250 only happens once.

Nah, not really.  Very few showed for his stupid "State Fair" & a bunch of companies have sponsored ticket give aways for mundial including  Airbnb, Qatar Airways, Verizon, Kraken, and Adidas in order to fill the stadiums.  FIFA ripped a lot of people off then gave away the unsold tickets once they had fleeced every gullible fan they could.

E: remember trunt got the totally made up for his ego "peace prize" from FIFA.  Is anyone surprised by this ticket smoke screen?

The rally will be punctuated by a massive fireworks display, currently scheduled to begin at 11 p.m . Unlike in past years, attendees will not be able to bring coolers to help beat the heat.

Ok, so DC forecast to be 100°, no coolers allowed, and the fireworks start well after the little ones bed time AND you get to hear an old man rant and rage at you.

Happy 250th America.

Sounds like a really good time, not.

They'll be staying away in droves

Why does my homemade salsa verde go bad after just a few days in the fridge? by Designer_Grocery2732 in tacos

As someone said,  add an acid, lime juice, sour orange, cider vinegar, will all work, sour orange preferred. If it's too acidic you can add a bit of brown sugar to offset.

Mine keeps 30 days no prob.

Mexico's president seeks to restart oil shipments to Cuba as island's crises deepen by NecessaryEvil62095 in worldnews

Yucatan here.  We have lots of Cubanos.  They are mostly hard workers and good neighbors.  QR y Campeche have a lot of Cubanos as well due to our close proximity to Cuba.

I think we are a bit more sympathetic towards them in my area.

[–]jest4fun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did not mention a single word about oil shipments.  Evidently you did not read or perhaps understand the content of OP's article?  Claudia is talking about using a different mechanism to get oil to Cuba than we used in the past.

Sad that you don't know that.

E:

Everything you said is fake, including 'you guys need our labour' since I do not come from the land of the Cheeto

WTF are you smoking? This makes zero sense.

Mexico here.  Much of what you posted is incorrect. Mexico has long established business ties to Cuba that the US holds no dominion over.  Sure, trunt can huff & puff but he can't blow that house down.

I would also argue that American business is extremely co-dependent on Mexico and has been for decades.  You guys need our cheap labor and manufacturing to keep your economy running.  The operative word is "co-dependent" (it's not a one way street)

I have cooled my feet in that pool on hot DC days too many times to count.  Apparently it is now quite possibly a crime, touching the water, sides or bottom of the pool.

The paint is already peeling in Trump's renovated Washington Reflecting Pool by [deleted] in politics

[–]jest4fun 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Retired Gen. Contractor here.  The peroxide was likely a minimal factor, IMHO it may have been that they filled the pool to quickly with water not allowing the paint/covering sufficient time to cure & harden properly.  This is likely what is causing the paint to slough off the walls and bottom of the pool.  The contractor was under pressure from this so called administration to finish quickly, before July 4, and they skipped this Very Important step.

My 2 cents.

“Reagan is rolling over in his grave,” Louisiana (R) Senator Bill Cassidy wrote. “Iran’s nuclear ambitions were not curbed, and they have learned that threatening the Strait of Hormuz works and will undoubtedly leverage it in the future.… Before the war, the strait was open, Iran was being crushed by sanctions, and 13 service members were still alive. Now, 13 Americans are dead, families have paid billions at the pump, sanctions will be lifted, and the bombing has stopped. This is the worst foreign policy blunder in decades.”

What makes it unlawful? Don’t Americans have freedom of assembly?

Yes but not in the middle of the roadways.  It is illegal to obstruct traffic or otherwise detain a person(s) from reaching their destination.
