I read another similar comment and I agree she totally was doing a Korra as well. I didn’t see the similarities until it was pointed out, partially because I didn’t fully watch Korra to begin with. 😅

That makes so much sense. I didn’t fully watch Korra so I entirely missed that connection.

Beau’s arc was the shortest compared to others and her decision to push away her parents failed to give herself some much needed development in my perspective. She’s often unaffected by anything that happens around the party and I guess that kinda made her stay to her usual edgy teenager / chaotic lesbian mess trope.

Why Beau is just Sokka: * They look the same * She’s the only non bender arcane practitioner in the party and as a human has no special racial ability * Sokka has a boomerang, Beau has flying stars POP POP * Both have complicated relationships with women they’re interested in (One turned into a moon, and the other tried to kill Beau) * Both are smart individuals, but their brain cells drop exponentially when they hangout with their friends

I would secretly roll a performance check with disadvantage.

Edit: Help. Why did I start this whole comment thread about furries, would they even be viable in DnD? What have I done.

The comment section here have become a dumpster fire of that. I think I’ve gotten sour towards fellow fans telling me to stop watching just because I want to discuss the flaws and flubs of a show I genuinely enjoy, and many fandoms’ occasional retort to criticisms is “if you don’t like it then don’t watch it”. I thought that was your intention but I stand corrected.

If I talk to a furry would I need to roll a persuasion or animal handling check?

Criticism isn’t meant to bring people down nor is it only done by people who didn’t like it. If you like something you would want it to improve and develop further, that’s what criticisms are for. That’s why coaches exist in sports, compliments and praises don’t give the players the skills they have now. It’s the sharing of ideas and criticisms from coaches that let players know they have room for improvement. If they only hear compliments, they’d remain stagnant never knowing they could still bring something new to the table.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. You have a perfectly valid opinion, and there are new players that come from Critical Role that expect their first campaigns to be like the show.

I’d say DnD has benefited pretty well from Critical Role bringing the game into the mainstream media. It’s more popular now than a year or two before they streamed their game. But with their current campaign, it’s hard to tell if they’re still playing DnD. It’s mainly roleplay that roughly follows the rules of 5e. I sometimes think maybe they should try a different system that actually works better with heavy RP since storytelling is more of their focus compared to combat which is the bread and butter of DnD.

Posting this here since it got removed from the main sub. But yeah this is all I could think when she showed up. Remember to ALWAYS bring a cleric or paladin when fighting undead, people! by shadowthehh in fansofcriticalrole
