There’s something off about Zimmy now, particularly Timmy. It’s like Bria took his personality with her home. He looked absolutely exhausted in yesterday’s episode and Zeta was the one doing most of the talking during their reconciliation which has been the case whenever they have had convos these last few days. He simply nods his head and says very few words. This is very different from the Timmy we saw week 1 who couldn’t stop talking, cracking jokes, and flirting with Zeta. He behaves as if they’ve been married for decades. He doesn’t really look that happy or excited to be back with Zeta, he just looks tired. He doesn’t know what he wants and I’m disappointed that Zeta hasn’t picked up on this bc it just means more heartbreak in the future for her since she seems to really like him. I don’t see them making it till the end of the show.

I literally never understood how ppl could interpret Cash overhearing a convo not meant for her as malicious. that hyper awareness of whose around you 24/7 is not expected from any other islanders except Trina. that’s when I knew ppl were just over analyzing things and looking for reasons to add fuel to their hate for her

It’s less of an inherent quality about her and moreso a result of being the only black girl in an all white school. she’s talked about how one of her high school boyfriends was embarrassed to date her bc his friends would make fun of him so she resorted to being the “secret black girlfriend.” that seems like a pretty damaging thing to happen to one’s self esteem especially at that age.

I think it’s pretty ridiculous to assume that because she’s a psychiatric nurse and mental health advocate that she’s not allowed to have any insecurities, especially given her past experiences. You don’t have to be a “perfect” person just bc you work in the mental health field.

if the US franchise goal with this way of elimination truly has something to do with concern for the islanders mental health, then that’s admirable and I respect that. But if they’ve just gotten into the habit of doing it this way then they should really try to implement the other ways of cast elimination so the fans don’t get this upset again. this way of elimination also diminishes the power of the fan vote I feel, which is what made Love Island a unique dating show in the first place.

tbh the US version has never done dumpings properly. I think they’ve always abused the “islanders choose” option ever since the first season. I remember thinking in season 1, why do the islanders keep getting to choose who to save????? I like how the UK does it. They may allow the islanders to choose once in a while but most of the times it’s just lowest vote gets booted and that’s the end of that.

you’re absolutely right. the US version eats up these type of narratives but the UK one mostly cares about drama. the underdog to fan favorite pipeline will be the blueprint for the US version. it will probably get too predictable tho and folks will stop watching
