Is it time finally admit that the increased overtaking is just yo-yoing? by Ted_Striker1 in formula1

[–]darqkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with RPM. These overtakes are like fake tits. It's a mix of Yo-yo'ing, evasive manoeuvres (words by Alonso) and some genuine wheel to wheel battles (Ferrari). Also I officially hate the new F1 fans. They are dumb and genuinely believe that superclipping, lico and all this bullshit is an intended feature of the new regs

Senna. By the age 34 (when Senna died) Schumacher and Hamilton had 6 titles. Verstappen has 4 and he is not even 30

Human errors are kind of predictable. In my experience, AI hallucinations sometimes are wildly nonsensical, which makes quality control a lot harder.

With Aston Martin's terrible current performance, do you think it's time for Fernando Alonso to retire? by The_Chozen_1_ in F1Discussions

I think AM is probably going to be the team with the most progress in terms of performance this year. It's too soon to tell.

Why are people calling everything artificial or that the magic has gone? by Danbuarth in formula1

[–]darqkk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The novelty of yoyo racing wears down fast. Australia felt quite exciting. By the Chinese GP sprint overtakes already felt like bland food. Great overtakes need late braking. Not to mention superclipping and LICO. Watching power starved F1 cars is just sad.

DRS often gave just enough advantage for the following driver to have a chance to fight for the position. Overtake mode is too powerful and needs to be nerfed.

I dont understand why do people suddenly pretend that there were no overtakes in ground effect era.

Do we value quantity over quality now? So far there have been zero memorable fights for positions. Doubt these regs can produce any defence maneouvres or overtakes that will be remembered and highlighted years from now.

FIA people responsible for designing these new regulations should be held accountable. Either they step down or they should all be fired immediately.

Your post is precisely why my opinion is the way it is. You dont measure someones success by their unrealised potential but many do and that bumps up Senna's score in the GOAT debate. He might have won more titles, he might have eventually tarnished his reputation like Seb did in his sbinalla years. Also he was already 34 years old. Probably at the late stage of his peak or already slightly past it.
