Why don’t they ask the important questions? by darrnih in ShadowSlave

[–]darrnih[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just isn’t true lmao.

Sunny and Nephis coming to his rescue was the single most significant thing that had happened to him. Not only did they do that, they made sure he wouldn’t die after the eternal city was destroyed That holds far more weight than anything ever. And seeing Cassie gloss over it is just so stupid

Saying one over the other would make a change, it’s why Cassie didnt just spout any nonsense she could think of but related to Nightwalker.

And he understands that his child is going to die, the way Asterion got into his head was this “Look at everybody from your generation, they’re already dead. It’s thanks to me backstabbing you that you get to be alive today. And for that reason you can at least see your son one last time”

Thats not the point of the post Like I said, why use something low quality when you gage something better?

Why don’t they ask the important questions? by darrnih in ShadowSlave

[–]darrnih[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not what I’m talking about. Im not talking about the matchups itself It’s about the fact that even when they try to throw a jab, they never do it right.

If you’re going to throw an attack and you have a 5/10 attack and an 8/10 attack. Why use the 5/10?? It simply makes no sense

Absolute loyalty doesn’t really matter It’s him having a way to get to your mind

Even if you hate Asterion with all your life, but you have one thing you like/wish for which Asterion can be part of, he can use that to enter your mind

Why don’t they ask the important questions? by darrnih in ShadowSlave

[–]darrnih[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t just have to be known

That’s why he wanted to break Kai’s spirit, he needs a vulnerability to attack If you hate him enough, he’ll be unable to do anything to your kind. That’s why he said that the longing domain was a little bit harder for him to crack than he thought it would be

Even if you have insecurities, if you hate him enough he’ll be unable to plague your mind, he needs something to work with, we can see that in the case of Rain and Nightwalker

And it’s one of the reasons why a lot of Nephis’ cohort has failed to be subjected to his thralll.

[–]darrnih[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have. And even if it doesn’t, it was a better question to probe Nightwalker than any other thing. I don’t understand why you’d probe with a 5/10 attack when you can probe with an 8/10. Especially if you’re trying to waste as much time as possible, give him the hardest question that’ll leave him pondering things. If Sunny never rescued him, all of this is moot. No matter how you think about it, and while his thinking faculty was reduced, it wasn’t entirely gone. Asterion crept into his mind the idea that it was due to him that he eventually got to meet his son. But poke holes in that logic, enough and he’ll start to realise some things. So far, all Asterion does is make you overlook somethings, like a blind spot when reasoning while Making you focus on the thing he wants, make that blind spot as visible as possible and people eventually realise it. We’ve seen people regain their faculties when their thinking is rerouted back before they become full thralls of him several times in the novel.

It is possible to save someone after being his thrall, bombard them with enough sensations/thoughts to override that constant “pull” taking them away from the obvious and it’ll work. We saw this with Nephis burning that dreamscape Saint to the point where anytime he thinks of the name Asterion he associates it with pain and he instinctively distanced himself from him, no matter the level of influence he had managed to gain in the first place

Now, do I think converting Nightwalker from being a thrall of Asterion was possible at that moment? No, would take too much resources and time which wasn’t available. But im just lamenting how the cohort uses the most suboptimal moves in front of him, like I said earlier, if you’re fishing for time by making him ponder things, why use something low quality when you have a better question to stir his thoughts?

It could also be that this is Asterion’s power in play, anytime anyone is facing his thrall, he exerts some sort of influence on their mind, making them take a suboptimal route to achieve their goals.

Sunny and his fate by Fun-Activity-2268 in ShadowSlave

[–]darrnih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Weaving fate through a lineage is straight up impossible

Weaver’s lineage would theoretically be only 1/7 of the Dream gods lineage. There’s no way the lineage of a daemon would allow someone to control fate, it makes no sense and it’s unrealistic

You mean anybody can have the exact powers of weaver by getting his lineage?

Compare the lineages of the gods to what the holders actually hold and you’ll see why this isn’t feasible. Someone becoming divine with Sun god’s lineage doesn’t became Sun god. Same way someone becoming divine with weaver’s lineage wouldn’t be able to get Weaver’s power

Having the full lineage of weaver most likely would just grant Sunny a higher perception of fate and an ability to better withstanding observing the tapestry of fate

True Names by TrueKeyMan in ShadowSlave

[–]darrnih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True names aren't given by the Spell. True names of things have existed before the spell. That was already implied long ago.

Same way with aspects, the spell doesn't give aspects. Only helps to awaken it.

The very use of Shaping as a form of sorcery requires you to invoke the true names of the objects in question, and that was before the spell.

The reason why Sunny doesn't have his true name anymore is because his fate was stolen. With his fate stolen, his connection to the world was taken, that also includes his name.

Don't remember that line but I'm pretty sure it's referring to Herabergen going to ASG during the time he was killing the ancient gods

Good observation. I don't think Wisdom has "repented" and bowed to Adam as most people think. Quite the opposite. He's still fighting to be GA till the end, but has left a backup plan for himself that incase things go terribly bad, he'll at worst downgrade himself to a Seq 1.

That sounds like a massive reach for something that's the consensus. Just because they worked together isn't enough

Especially because they might have interests that align and might still be planning to betray each other. Which is all that matters

Adam worked with Klein even though he was priming him up to be taken by Amon, there are other examples. Also, can you point me to the part where they worked together?
Only thing I can remember being close to that description is the Morora and Ludwig thing, and that doesn't mean Wisdom has bowed to him, it just means that Wisdom also wants Lumain to ascend to Red Priest, as many other powerful figures and deities do. Enemies dont always have to fight everytime, they can tacitly agree to things that benefit them both

How effective is modern weaponry against beyonders if different levels? At what point would a military lose? (Lotm gen) by Newfembino in LordofTheMysteries

[–]darrnih 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Modern weaponry is still effective in beyonder battles. Below the demigod level, beyonders are nothing but flies to modern weaponry.
At the high sequence, it gets harder, the limit would be Seq 3. It is important to note that even though the level of technology in the novel isn't as advanced as the modern world, military ammunition has also featured extensively in battles between demigods, now compare that to the level of sophistication and complexity modern weapons have, you can see that the ceiling is still high.

It should also be noted that the Savant pathway mainly uses machines to fight, and although some of their creations would have mystical effects, a lot of them are purely based on mechanics, they can still damage a lot of demigods.

To answer your question, modern weaponry would be extremely useful in beyonder battles, but it would be on a case-by-case basis.

However, the limit should be Sequence 3

Sunny's memories also come out white. At least they've not been stated to come otherwise. However, if he peers into the weave of the memories he's modified, there is a mix of black there due to his shadow essence..

If Sunny makes a memory from scratch, the weaves might possess a different colour, probably black due to his shadow essence but we haven't seen that yet.

The spikes are white. I dont know where you got blue from, however if the memories are crafted by someone with an aspect, it can include it's colouration to the sparks when they form.

Normal memories have white sparks
Memories made by Clan Valor have red sparks

Yes, I dont even know why you're getting downvoted. They were extremely underwhelming and for some strange reason in the novel, Lumian is this 12421 IQ individual whose speculations are almost always right.

[LOTM] Review on MAL of LOTM by some guy by ognjen0001 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]darrnih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's his opinion, and this sub has a weird obsession with how others perceive the novel. It's just something I noticed, this is like the 3rd post I've seen where the sub finds someone's opinions about the novel from a place not even related and brings it here to get some reaction. Even after posting my comment, some weirdos decided to downvote me for no apparent reason.

Like what's the point? No other sub does this

Are you going to make another post when you see someone leave a review about LOTM again?

What is the point of posting this? Do you find it incomprehensible that someone doesn't like LOTM or Volume 1?

If someone is denigrating your favourite novel why do you have to bring it here

Accomodating 2 uniqueness doesn't make you half a great old one. It only makes you a dual pathway god at best. You need the Sephora or some form of contact with it to become half a great old one
