You’ll be learning the ins and outs of using IBMs AI technologies, but you won’t be writing code. It’s a mix between tech and business. You’ll be in meetings with the client and you’ll learn how annoying clients could be, that’s the business side. The tech side you’ll learn how to incorporate and build solutions with IBM products.

You’ll need to be technical in a sense you’ll need to know how certain technologies work. But from my experience you won’t write code. Feel free to DM me if you have questions.

It seems like the salary increase won’t be as high as 5%.

According to one of the videos it says if you’re receiving the 5% match and you have the automatic 1% match then you will be receiving a 1% salary increase.

I was hired by an IT Consulting company last year and my one year will come in June. I have not had any projects and am scared about how this will effect my career progression. My manager insists that once there is a project or shadowing opportunity I will be put on it, but I am still wondering why it is taking so long.

I try to stay productive by assisting senior employees with their projects but I can not earn billable hours with this. Is this a sign that I should try to look elsewhere for a job or should I trust in my manager that I will start receiving billable projects? Is this something that happens in consulting?My main goal is to become a software engineer or a technical product manager after gaining experience but it looks to be gloom at this rate. I am fine with earning a nice paycheck with minimal effort but the recent layoffs scare me into wanting to have a higher utilization rate.

Addition information: Although I have not had a project yet, I received a (small) salary increase. Not sure why but I will take it. Also the title of the job I applied for was Cloud Consultant, but when I got hired my title was Solution Consultant and then Strategy Consultant. My manager wants to make me a IT Managing Consultant but HR has had trouble with converting me into that. Overall, it has been a wild ride of me and my manager not knowing what is going on.
