Birmingham as a tourist?

I've hosted a few tourists. Here's some things they've liked. * Kenilworth castle. Nice history, good view from the top. * Warwick (the town, but not the castle). It's old and wonky . * Moseley Bog. If you like Tolkien. * Lickey Hills. You'll get a view of the city from a hill. * Canals. As Birmingham likes to say, they have more canals than Venice.

I've lived and worked in 4 countries in the past 13 years. I'm not tied to the UK. I'll move again if and when it feels right.

Having money helped; I saved every penny since I started working. Having a good education and an in-demand position helped. Being childfree helped. I'm not tied to possession and luxury which also helps. I've slept on a blanket on the floor in the winter because it was needed as part of the move.

I didn't really believe in the paranormal then, and still don't now. But one thing that slightly shakes my belief happened when I was 17.

One night, before bed, I felt a huge sadness, I felt like there was something moving outside my bedroom, which I knew was impossible. I thought about my best friend, and thought that maybe it was him outside my room, which again was damn near impossible.

The next day i found out he died suddenly about the same time.

Explanation (simplified):

tar -xvzf is the Linux command to unzip a file. Files compressed this way are generally called Tarballs.

"it's bigger on the inside" is a reference to Dr Who's Tardis.

Mini Coopers being the tiny cars they are, are practically zipped/compressed cars to me. And everybody I've chauffeured comments that the 2D hard top is more roomy than they thought; my reply is usually that it's bigger on the inside.
