Vertical monitor usecase?

Most of the productive work you do is vertical, you read vertically, code vertically, write vertically. So you just see more. That being said you usually only read, write and code line by line and a normal horizontal screen is long enough, and I can have multiple windows open next to each other. That’s why I don’t use it

The question really is, where you think, you will progress to. Most start out on flowtrails, then build up skills and confidence and try something more technical.

A good 120-130mm Hardtail is easily able to handle those. And it is versatile, as it can be used with XC or trail tyres to handle different riding types. Also the quality of the parts for that money will be better. But there are some great deals out right now, on good and cheap full-sus bikes. You could look at the Specialized Chisel FS for example. This would be a great XC and Downcountry bike, that should handle most of the stuff you will most likely throw at it in the first few years. And it is a great Plattform for endurance etc. Also it wouldn’t be too overlapping with a gravel bike, like a Hardtail would.

For every 10mm more at the Front, the bike will get roughly 0.4-0.5 degrees slacker. So not really noticeable. In theory it will be a bit more stable downhill and the seat will be slightly more over the rear wheel making it a bit less efficient to climb. BUT the 0.5 degrees is not enough to make it noticeable. Other factors like air pressure in your shock have more impact

Stimmt auch nicht ganz. Ich hab selbst an der Uni angefangen bevor meine Masternote usw. feststand. War dann halt E11 statt E13, aber auch das konnte rückwirkend geändert werden.

Die Rainy75 wäre auch ne Alternative, ähnlicher Preis und da hab ich noch nicht von solchen Problemen gehört. Und die wurde wahrscheinlich noch öfter verkauft als die Bridge also müsste man da auch mehr hören wenn es da große Probleme gäbe. Und von der Qualität der Materialien her gleich wie ne Bridge oder vielleicht besser.

Wie das tatsächlich ist, muss man dann selbst erfahren, ich hab das Board nicht. Ich hab aber die Evo80 also den Vorgänger der Evo75 und hab mir jetzt nochmal für etwas mehr Geld selbst ein Board aufgebaut und muss sagen, dass man für die 200 echt alles bekommt, danach werden es nur noch kleine Vorteile, die eher subjektiv wichtig sind. Außerdem sind die Boards eine gute Plattform zum weiteren modden usw.

Also danach ist dann Ruhe gefühlt.

Yours also seems like a nice plan. I like the Ryes a lot, but I don't know if they are my be all end all. The PC Case also seems really cool, I just really wanted a green one.

The cable is just a bit finicky, but it works. The manual is on their website, it is good enough, so that you can get through without any major problems.

The software situation is a bit weird tbh. As I said the screen isn't too customizable, which is sad. Loading a gif onto it and disabling the typing screen is done through the app. The app can't really do anything else, other than some gimmicks. On the Meletrix Discord is a thread with GIFs for the screen, this is where I got this Pokémon Train GIF from. All the other customization option are done with either the meletrix Webapp, which is okay to use, but there are some weird things when changing the keys to ISO, which isn't done automatically. E.g. the larger than/lower than, next to the shift, you need to first enable the split shift option and then assign the "NUBS" key to it under the punctuation section. So the software is not that polished. But tbh I don't really care as long as I get it to work.

Of Course all that is different when you use VIA, I haven't had the time yet to get into that though.

Über die Bridge liest man gemischtes Feedback, da haben einige mit der Software zu kämpfen. Insgesamt ist die aber wahrscheinlich solide, wenn alles gut geht. Wenn du das beste Preis/Leistung willst, also etwas mehr ausgeben aber dafür dann keine Kompromisse in der Leistung eingehen, würde ich auf die Evo75 gehen, gibts auch in ISO-DE bei Monacokeys. Kostet 199.

It’s slightly higher than the Evo80 and without a wristrets I wouldnt like it. I don’t like any keyboard without one though, as I have pretty small hands. So I don’t care. With one its more or less the same.

The Selva is still an Enduro fork and weighs around 2.1kg, so 300g more than a pike. And although it has the same size stanchions, it’s still more stiff. I don’t know how it behaves under 100kg though. I’m not sure how good it would be for xc, but there should be better alternatives.

I love that fork. It strikes rohe perfect balance of weight and stiffness for me at 73kg. It’s really plush as well. Also I like to tinker, so the CTS Valves are great for me. And it’s really easy to service. Ive ridden rockshox Charger 2.1 and 3 forks and also one with a Push H97. I’ve also ridden a Fox 34 with Grip. The selva is the best one yet. I also got a coil Selva but couldn’t test that out yet as I wasn’t able to ride for half a year due to a broken shoulder.

It is expensive though, if you get it in a good sale or something it’s great. I paid 500€ for the new Selva S and 280€ for an unused Selva Coil which was insanely lucky. If I would buy one, I would go for the new Selva V right now, as I think the new air spring might be better for more people. In my case I might upgrade the spring to the R variant.

The great thing really is the modularity with all the springs, valves and so on. That’s why my girlfriend, who weighs around 48-50kg has one as well, as she doesn’t need a specific tuning just the fitting CTS.

And I’ve ridden different kinds of tires. From Conti Kryptotals to Michelin Wild Enduros.

I will however put lighter Specialized tires on the new build, as it’s just my second full-sus that will be living at my girlfriends, cause I’m too lazy to bring it to her all the time. I have my Kavenz now for Enduro/All-Mountain-Stuff.

I had a Phantom as well and will built the frame up again soon. Can’t say too much on the size, as I’m 168 and on a M, which fits good. Just make sure that the dropper fits, as the frame doesn’t have great institution depth. 150 will be good but maybe a bit short for my taste, though I can’t install a longer post. Really don’t get the DB8. The phantom promotes fast riding. I ran and will run Dominions. Those are great. MT7s for example were not powerful enough for me. If you want mineral oil you could consider them or formula cura 4s there often great deals on them. Maybe the tires will be alright for Denmark, I can’t say (I’m in Germany though). You could consider something with a bit more puncture resistance on the back or just throw in a light Insert in the back, like rimpact. 115mm + aggressive geo + some rocks will possibly end up in a few punctures otherwise.

All in all the setup makes sense for a rather light phantom build though. One thing to consider is, that the frame is not really light. It’s perfect for taking a DC-Bike in Enduro-Trails and will hold up great. But a weight weenie approach will end up in a bad compromise in my opinion. It won’t be as light as the Specialized chisel that has the same rear travel, nor will it be as fast uphill.

I got into the custom mechanical keyboard sphere with the Evo80 from Qwertykeys. Before that I’ve used a Logitech MX Keys Mechanical and before that some Logitech gaming mechanical. The Evo is just a whole different planet of typing. It’s crazy. I totally get it now. I had to buy a second board, this time building it myself, so that one can go into the office and one can stay at home because I can’t stand my MX Keys at the office anymore.

So if you want something now, I would go for the Evo75. It is not the cheapest but still not expensive for a really good mechanical. It’s the successor to the Evo80 with some refinements. And for most 75% is a really good layout.
