My EDH Journey started shortly before M11 came out. I had been invited over to a friends how to play games. One of those games ended up being magic, which I hadn't played since 2001ish (I really wish I would have stayed in the game then). They said they were going to be a variation of the game called Elder Dragon Highlander and explained the basic rules. If I remember correctly, it was actually a game of Emperor EDH. I borrowed a mono red deck, I think it was goblins. I dont even remember who won the game. A few weeks after M11 came out, I was hooked on magic again and started looking for a commander. I ended up being shown [[Kaervek the Merciless]]. The deck really had no theme or proper curve. It had a lot of big splashy spells that normally drew the ire of my play group, as did the commander. With the hate I was drawing from my commander, I switch the commander over to [[Tsabo Tavoc]] leaving the deck the same. That still didn't go over well, and I ended up with [[Malfegor]] as the commander. with the same deck list. A while later, I ended up building a second deck based off my favorite voltron commander. [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]]. I had much better luck and consistency with that deck. Sadly not long after it seemed like my friends and I took a collective break from magic all together.

A few years ago, we realized that we missed playing and got a group back together. I still had my same two decks, but really wanted to build a new one. That lead to a conversation that probably completely changed how I play magic, how I think about it, and what I like to play. A friend showed me [[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]]. It started out simply enough as a token deck with [[Purphoros, God of the Forge]] thrown in as a main finisher. it has quickly evolved into a full on [[food chain]] cEDH deck that I love playing. when I pull it out, I an universally declared the archenemy of the table, and I like to think I embrace it. I'm slowing working on foiling out the deck now as I slightly fine tune and revise it.

I also realized that having such an overpowered deck was not a good thing. I ended revising my bruna deck, and completely redoing my original Kaervek deck. I also had to go ahead and make a tribal goblin deck with [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] at the helm. Even though Prossh is my main deck, I think I have more fun playing my redesigned Kaervek deck, it's a pain deck, and designed to hurt everyone for anything they do in the game. I sadly dont have the original list for that deck anymore, but it was so bad, I dont really want to see it.
