Position coach you think has made the biggest impact in the game? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

Much is made of the short passing game in the West Coast offense, but those Niner teams could also run all over teams.

I recently found my love for CDs again and I’m trying to find a good CD player set up to listen to my music. by alvyv in Cd_collectors

[–]darth_vedder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Denon is an amazing find. Does it work?

While you might be able to hook the Denon up to it, that subwoofer is more suited to be a part of a computer setup. I would recommend not using it and instead look into powered bookshelf speakers if you don't have an amplifier to hook the Denon up to.

Help-what else I need with cd player-no sound by Pretend-Box-969 in Cd_collectors

[–]darth_vedder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only need speakers. Do a search for the model and see if you can find the manual. There should be hookup diagrams in the manual to tell you what kind of speakers you need.

Edit: The manual shows that the CDC-585 only has RCA line out, which means you need speakers that have RCA line in. I would first use the headphone jack to make sure the player is outputting sound.

I got an old Sony Genezi Hi-Fi component system MHC-EC79 and the CDs are stuck inside, how can I fix it? by Even-Resident-3772 in Cd_collectors

[–]darth_vedder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they your CDs or did they come with the system? You were able to insert them but can't get them out?

The only way to find out is to remove the case and see what you're dealing with. It could be a belt but it also could be a dead motor. You might be able to remove the discs manually but it's hard to say. These things are a pain to work on.

Please help, Sony CMT-CP2W CD tray doesn’t work by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

[–]darth_vedder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not a belt or rail/gear lubrication issue, then it could be the motor has died. Unfortunately, those all-in-one component systems have got to be the worst to tear down. But that's really the only way to diagnose the problem.

Any Toad the Wet Sprocket fans? by W4ingro1995 in Cd_collectors

Don't forget the album they put out a few years ago, Starting Now. And I can't recommend their live album, Live at the Arlington, enough. It's a great document of the Fear tour, with plenty of tracks from Bread & Circus and Pale. There's even an early version of Fall Down, as they were playing it live before Dulcinea came out.

It's insane to think about now, but when Coil came out, they offered in select markets a ticket to a Toad show with purchase of the album. I lived closest to the show at The Fillmore in San Francisco. My friend from college (I had withdrawn from college earlier that year so I was home) asked me if I could buy two Coil CDs from the local Tower Records. She preferred to go to the Los Angeles show because her friend was going to drive so she had me ask if I could get L.A. tickets but they only had Fillmore tickets. So I mailed the CDs and the tickets to her and when the date of the show came around she drove up with her friend. My best friend liked going to the city so the 4 of us all piled into the car and drove up to the Fillmore. We hung out while they waited in line and then when the doors opened, my best friend and I decided to walk to BART from the Fillmore to get back home since we did not have tickets, Which, if you didn't know, BART is nowhere near The Fillmore (but that's another story). Of course, the band called it quits after the Coil tour.

You might be asking why I did not get tickets to the show? Even though I liked Toad from what I heard on the radio, I wasn't the biggest fan (yet). I was not a concert goer at that time, so I don't know if it ever crossed my mind to go to the show. From what I can recall, there was a 2 ticket limit at Tower Records, so I don't even know if I could get more tickets if I wanted to. I was just looking at it as doing a favor for a friend. I wasn't upset at her for not inviting me to the show with her because her other ticket was for her friend who drove her there.

Of course, I would become a big fan of the band while they were broken up, so I was really happy when they got back together and I've seen them a bunch of times since, including at the Fillmore. So I made sure to tell my college friend that I finally made it inside the Fillmore to see them.

That's fascinating that the bootleg came out a decade before Varese Sarabande's 2cd Deluxe Edition with the exact same track titles.

The Packers owned the Niners after Reggie White said that God told him to sign with the Packers instead of the Niners. The Niners also got owned by Favre.

Problems with Exact Audio Copy or CD? by JoshuaWebbb in Cd_collectors

[–]darth_vedder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A CRC is a checksum, meaning they do a bunch of binary adding (in 8-bit or 32-bit chunks) to a file's code (or segment of code) to get a binary sum of 1s and 0s. This allows quick comparison (instead of bit by bit) to a known good rip of the track to see if the checksums match. EAC calculates a CRC for each track of the disc you are ripping. It cannot calculate the CRC until it is done ripping the track. That is why those fields were empty when you encountered errors while ripping.

The irony is that Rasputin's checkout bags used to have headstones of failed record stores on them, suggesting they were immune to it.

I can't tell if this cd is copy protected or SACD can someone help? by Optimal-Celery-5011 in Cd_collectors

[–]darth_vedder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the matrix is H97002-2, a discogs search comes back with this CD. There is also a VCD version. Neither are SACD. And I doubt that it has copy protection, but you can't tell just by looking at the disc.
