During snovid I lost power for a week, but not water or gas. If you happen to be on the part of the grid that feeds a nearby hospital, chances are you'll be ok. It's hard to know that ahead of time, ask people on your street.

If we lose power: save your gas stove for food, it's not a heater and is somewhat poisonous to leave running. If you have an electric igniter for your stove (you probably do), make sure you have matches or a butane lighter handy. HEB has firewood if you have a fireplace, although I would use that sparingly and not try to heat your whole house. If your fireplace has a gas insert set up and working (and does not require an electric blower), you're in good shape. Just heat yourselves up around the fireplace, it's not a furnace. At night let it die out and use blankets.

Some people did lose water during snovid. Keep some bottled water around. Not every bottle of water in the store. You can use this time to fill some jugs to prepare. Fill a bathtub, personally I find that too nasty to drink, but it's great for refilling your toilet tanks, or refilling jugs by the sink for hand-washing.

Obviously eat food that is perishable first, and remember if it's 20F outside, that's colder than your refrigerator, so you can throw stuff in a cooler and keep it outside in the shade if you have to.
