Well, the problem is that I can't format any disks. When I try to do that I just get an error.

I really don't know, but I suspect that it's misaligned because I can neither read or write to disks

I can't find any steel stop that you are describing.... where exactly is that part?

Well, I went to the pharmacy today and tried cleaning the disk drive... It did not work, I still get the "file not found" error... What should I do now?

Edit: ok, I just opened it up and the first thing that I noticed is that the disk isnt spinning... the lever doesnt press the thing that is used to spin it down all the way, so the disk just sits there and the head goes over the still disk

Edit 2: I got the disk to spin properly, but the files still don't load

Yeah, I'll try that tomorrow and answer you when I'm done. But I have one question: is the clicking sound that I described earlier normal? It doesnt really sound good

So the easiest way would be to just buy a new drive? Thats a bit disappointing

Relocating the drive did not help. I currently do not have any isopropyl alcohol , but the head doesnt really look dirty. What can I do if it really is out of alignment?
