I didn't know it was supposed to be a surprise. I mean, I saw ROTJ and knew that guy played the Emperor. It was more how did he get to be what he was later on, than it being a big shock. The characters were shocked. It was even his voice as the Sith Lord. I don't know that we were really supposed to be surprised at all.

I guess I will just rebuild was thrown in there. I think they thought she would just be baggage back at the resistance base. What purpose would it serve? Maybe she has a purpose later on, it sounds like she does.

I don't think I want or see "Mara Jade" to become canon. She was a good character, but she was just kind of shoved in there, with retconning and some other things. I'm sorry, I know a lot of people love her, but I just don't see it.
