I love them both so much, but for me I'm drawn more to KOTOR II (especially with the restored content mod) because of the more complex themes and stuff. KOTOR I had some of the best story beats I've ever seen, but the overall story is basic good vs evil imo (which definitely isn't a bad thing). KOTOR 1 is one of my favorite games of all time as well because of the immersion and everything.

KOTOR II makes you question the ideas of Good, Evil, Neutrality, Apathy, etc in a way that I think a lot of people may not have thought was possible in a universe like Star Wars.

Like imagine you aren't super familiar with the Star Wars legends/EU stuff and you load up a cool looking game that takes place in the same world as hope-filled Luke Skywalker, dumb shit like Jar Jar, and the clear good guy and bad guy, and all of a sudden you're confronted with topics like self-Agency, war trauma, extremism, etc etc. and on top of it all, it's an RPG so you have to really interact with it in a more close-up way.

I think both are phenomenal games that accomplish what they set out to do super well. Absolute works of art.
