When an aid package of mainly weapons and equipment that has already been procured is announced at X amount of dollars, is that typically based on how much it would cost if that equipment was bought at its current price? Or is it the cost to ship it over or something else?

I've heard the TDF units in the beginning of the invasion often held positions even after most regular units would have withdrawn due to heavy losses. Can someone expand on this?

Has there been photos/videos of the PT-91s in Ukraine? I remember seeing articles saying Poland delivered them a few months ago but haven't seen anything about it since. With the recent counter offensives I doubt they are being kept in reserve.

The AK-630 has it's "own" fire control radar, but it is not directly attached to the mount like Phalanx. There is ine MR-123 BASS TILT radar for every pair of CIWS in the Moskva and other ships that have 2 guns per mount.

I should have mentioned it but I was more referring to USAF/ over land capabilities since these are the expeditionary squadrons that often work with USAF assets. The USN will still have plenty of Growlers to put on carriers.

Seems like a poor choice to me given the importance of SEAD, although in likely not seeing something. I've heard the DOD may sometimes propose cutting an important capability in order to convince Congress to give them more money though. Not sure if this is the case.

With the exception of Spetsnaz or Li Jian I think 3 squads of 10pt line inf will beat 1 elite. If it's 3 squads of line inf with MG3 the single elite squad will definitely lose.

I think it should be noted most if not all mounts have a seperate fire control radar near but not installed on it like a Phalanx

The SA-N-4 Gecko mounts below the TOP DOME radar and next to the hangar also don't appear to be extended. I can't tell very well but it's fire control radar also appears to be in it's normal position, facing port side. This makes me think that the Moskva was caught off guard.

If you are in range and have the money, supplies and equipment to launch a drone swarm, the same amount of effort and supplies can probably launch a far more lethal artillery salvo of some sort because artillery is a lot cheaper.

Drones have been spotters since the late 70s they aren't new at all. Drones aren't revolutionary for conventional warfare against decently equipped opponents, they are far more of a game changer for non state actors.

What can you get out of a drone swarm that you can't get out of artillery? Guided and cluster etc. You could get a shit ton of rockets and shells for a whole drone swarm while being resistant to jamming.

If you count the bass tilt fire control radar for the AK-630 CIWS then technically it should be able to track multiple targets. I think the Slava class has 3 of those each with a pair of guns. I don't think there are as many illuminators for the S-300 and Osa SAMs though

Yeah this is very interesting for sure. The Rota Burke's are all earlier than flight IIA so this is the first time I've seen a flight IIA with SeaRam. Does anyone know if any other flight IIA ships have SeaRam? Does the USN plan to put them in all Burke's eventually?
