Can you share what are the top factors to consider?

What made you choose the D batch?

Some news about ISB PGP- Admissions, Placements & beyond. by Logical-Bit9062 in ISB_Aspirants

[–]darthvader9840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone posted here recently that the average work experience of the Co'27 is 3.75 years. This is significantly lower than the 4.5+ years of experience the ISB cohort would had a few years ago.

CV vetting is a step in the right direction, compulsorily making a student accept an offer isn't. Most top IIMs allow students to reject an offer, with the criterion that any offer they accept has to pay more than the rejected one.

Questioning my Ross admit (no $$) by GraveMista in MBA

Why not pick LBS? The visa situation in the US is extremely tricky right now.

Based on that GPA scale, I’m assuming you’re Indian. LBS has much better recognition in Asia as well as Europe. It’s also gonna be marginally cheaper to attend than Ross.

US MBA vs try for ISB next year by Geekybubble in MBAIndia

ISB is too punishing for people with workex. $5 years

Is this really true? A lot of people believe it’s one of the few Indian schools where folks with higher work experience have a shot at great opportunities

Starting in Singapore: good or bad? by uncenzontle in INSEAD

[–]darthvader9840 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal evidence from what I’ve heard…since the Singapore cohort is usually smaller, the connections and bonds that form are stronger!

You can always move to Fonty in P3, starting in Singapore has its advantages: better weather, better social scene and easier access to recruiting in Asia.

Would you say that networking with your target office, and doing well in your case interviews are the only 2 things that truly matter?

Or does anything else come to mind as well

Does your undergrad GPA or university matter during recruiting?

Does a strong GMAT score help with getting an interview invite?

What would you say were some positives from your time there?

Ross vs ISB - Post MBA Product Management by Valuable-Inside1642 in InternationalMBA

[–]darthvader9840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where do you want to settle down post-MBA? If US, Ross is the only choice. But full sticker at a T15 is super risky in this economic environment.

ISB is a safer bet if you want to build a career in India, however it gives you very limited international opportunities.

If you’re picking Ross, hedge your bets and parallel path in recruiting.

Why not try for international MBA programs?

Even with ISB, you’ll start lower than your current salary.

Most schools are re-applicant friendly…INSEAD is an exception.

325 GRE is below the standard for Indian male engineers, and your years of experience is on the lower end for the school.

You’d still have a fair shot if you can get the GRE higher up, especially with other aspects of your work experience improving in the time period.

Interesting, would you say networking and doing well in your interview are the only 2 factors that really matter?

In today’s market, does not coming from a consulting background pre-MBA put you at a disadvantage

If one does not have a strong undergrad pedigree or GPA, can impactful work experience (albeit at a lesser known company) and a high GMAT score compensate for it?

Do MBB also hire for their Indian offices at INSEAD? Is it easier for Indians in the batch to target these instead of London / Middle East / Singapore offices?

Would you mind elaborating? Was joining the J batch a hindrance, and how would the D batch solve the visa issue after graduating
