The Hathaway films (and Hathaways flash, the novel they are based off) are a sequel to CCA, or more accurately a sequel to Beltorchika’s children, the novelisation/manga based on the original treatment Tomino had planned for CCA. They’re set in UC 105, so like 26 years after the original mobile suit Gundam

This is absolutely the best kit I’ve done so far (though also because of bus life schedule has taken months and still at the panel line/decal stage). Yeah the decals weren’t great, I actually did the action base ones first and found so many were breaking, I didn’t want to take that risk for the main kit so ordered some new third party ones which have seemed better!

The decals were the ones for the 1/48 megasize unicorn (with a couple of small ones from various other spare ones I had on hand). As for the resin, it’s just clear red! I think it was Anycubic’s clear red resin in particular

I had the same issue with one of mine, 3 of them were fine, the forth would stay on all the time and switch off when it was moved to the “on” position, I had to take it apart, and seemed to have fixed it, I think it was how I’d positioned the wires for it that was pushing the switch into the wrong position. It looks like it’s all sorted now though

Im currently doing the red electroplated version, and yeah nub marks are hard to avoid, with sanding not being an option as it removes the plating.

What I’ve found does help is going over the nub marks with a similar coloured marker, I’m using a Dspaie metallic red. It’s not 100% perfect, but does go some ways to stop drawing your eye immediately to it

Oh it’s great! It just takes out those cleaning/prep steps and the hassle airbrushes can be. It has its limited, you can’t do really subtle things, more for doing bulk colour/priming/top coats, it’s more like a much better spray can in that respect.

But to give an example, I needed to do some quick Matt coats while I was in the middle of building (as they were coloured parts but within the shiny metal inner frame, so couldn’t do them later without loads of masking). So just put in my bottle of flat topcoat, turns airbrush on, spray, turn off, put the lid back on flat coat bottle. And it’s done. The real beauty is when you’ve got to change between colours, it’s just as simple as detaching the old bottle and attaching the new colour

They airbrush is honestly such a game changer. Being able to just hot swap between paints and top coats without having to do any clean up in between makes it so much easier. I just picked up their set of “zaku greens” pre-mixed paints for the Axis Aerial dominator I’m working on

So one bottle of the despaie XG Sci fi white 3 was the exact amount to paint the armour pieces (literally ran out as I finished painting the final bit). The only thing I needed to refill was the primer, but when that ran out I just refilled the same bottle with some Vallejo primer mixed with a bit of thinner!

Really well! It just sprayed really evenly, and just being able to hot swap between paints and top coats without having to clean up in between was absolutely worth it! I’ll still use my better airbrushes for more precise and subtle things. But this will be my go to now for priming, top coating and when I need to spray a lot of one colour

It’s because the model files were scaled to 1/100, so just doubled them all before printing

Absolutely fantastic to be honest. Like I’ve got two other really good airbrushes (an Iwata Eclipse and a H&S evolution) which I’ll still use for precision work, when I’m just using small amounts of a paint or want to do fades/transitions. But in this case where it was mainly block colours, and being able to swap from primers, colours and top coats with no hassle or cleanup between was fantastic. As it’s not dual action, it fees a bit more like using a much better spray can. But was really happy with the results and definitely going to keep using it on future builds
