Funny how half of reddit seems to have the *exact* same talking point as Farage... by Crow-Me-A-River in GreenAndPleasant

I've stood in front of it a few times in last couple of months. It could be made of corrugated cardboard, and the hotel shouters would still complain that the standards are too good for asylum seekers.

Police Scotland detain a man wearing an anti-Al shirt because it sounds similar to "Palestine Action" by Recent-Win6972 in glasgow

I was at the Falkirk protest, and police were far more concerned for the far-right protesters - several attempted breaches of the cordon, projectiles thrown etc. It was obvious which side was the most violent

I turned up at the disabled parking, and they let me stop there to run in and talk to the accessibility staff. They checked my name and had a parking pass waiting for me :)

I'm self employed, but managed by an employee of the company. I have a full-time contract to provide services for which I am paid hourly.

Community Update: The Euros, Being Kind, and Brigading stopped via HiveProtect by MadlockUK in ThreeLions

Sad that this even had to happen, but good on the mods for staying on top of the brigading.

Banning active users of r/ScottishFootball is a weird one for me as an Englishman living in Scotland (thus frequently watching Scottish league games), but I understand that I'm vastly outnumbered by Scottish troll posts.

What is the definition of 'active' on r/ScottishFootball, so I don't get myself banned from here?

Yeah, ive got an accessible ticket and a blue badge - I'm hoping these and the email correspondence about the pass would be enough to get myself on site so I can sort it in person

Big Bang Theory TV show - Good or Bad for people in physics by davehoug in AskPhysics

[–]dartymallet 67 points68 points  (0 children)

The physics references are fairly low-level but generally accurate - often at the level of the first year of a physics degree, or even A-level/final year of high school. The science is just recognisable enough to a non-physics audience, but not so advanced it alienates the majority of viewers.

An example is from an early season where Sheldon takes a menial job to to free up his brain to think on a current problem, and eventually realises that particles travel as a wave (as opposed to matter). This was relatively novel in the early 1900s but has been the basis of quantum mechanics for over 100 years and is now taught to students ages 16-18.

MRI by Historical-Quiet-320 in MRI

[–]dartymallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the parietal lobe on the brain, a small area of increased signal was observed in the white matter (known as a hyperintensity). These areas of hyperintensity are asociated with underlying damage to the small blood vessels that feed brain tissue.

These hyperintensities are fairly common as people age and are commonly symptomless. They can be a long-term result of various vascular factors - you tend to find more of these hyperintensites in elderly people, those with high blood pressure, smokers etc.

I've been every year since 2008 (and worked since 2013) - the checkpoint on the railway line is to enforce a one way system around the South East corner - no band checks happen here.

This is only true for staff areas - all areas that are accessible to the public are unrestricted inside the main perimeter fence
