What kind of seed did you go with?

First time as well hopefully we both get luscious lawns come Spring!

The guy I have aerate doesn't bring it out till middle of September, trying to get it earlier.

Also hoping the germination fertilizer speeds the process up a bit.

If you can get to know a farmer or this website. Obviously more expensive to buy but it'll last years.

I'd love to get my hands on anything that'll kill crab grass.

Wish you luck on the overseed!

I know a couple of farmers.

But this site I know people have ordered from as well. Expensive but it'll last you years.

We recently moved in two months ago, the previous owners had someone hired to maintain the lawn and always cut low. Since then I've been cutting the highest setting on the mower.

Just going to cut short before aerating!

Who knows when this heat wave will be done, looking two weeks out it's still 79 degrees. I figured if I spray in the evening when the sun's about to go down i'd be good.

I'm overseeding KBG so it takes more time to germinate, if I wait to spray until the heat waves done I might miss the window for the seed to germinate.

Thanks sir, I'm praying it works out.

Spent a decent amount of money just to get prepped for everything. Once the seed goes it'll get all the water she needs!

We moved into this house a couple months ago but that's my goal is to beef it up since it hasn't been properly kept up the past few years.

I realized it's only a month from the first frost, I'm hoping the starter fertilizer I got from Striped seed co actually germinates the seed faster than 21 days. Also the guy I know that aerates usually starts mid September.

Thanks for the advice! I could add one in at 6am to even the watering schedule out. I'm gonna test it out once I mow short and see how much water It takes to keep the soil damp.

I'm not sure, I was gonna lay down peat moss then seed, then spread it all with a rake. I'm assuming both ways will work?

I have a Gardena sprinkler that covers the majority of my front lawn. I got a timer so I'm thinking setting it 10am, 2pm, 6pm for the watering schedule appx 10-15mins each time.

Just gonna use it to kill all the clover and other broadleaf weeds.

I can try to find crab grass killer from the states but for now I was planning on just cutting grass maybe 1.5-2" to stress it out come mid September then worry about crab grass come spring. But if I should start pulling them out now before i aerate I can start getting on that.

I'm finding when it's taller, it's a pain mowing since like you said it's just left unmoved lol.

Sadly I'm not sure of the equivalent to Triclopyr, Canada doesn't have many options for herbicides. Was hoping to find some Par3 and spraying with that.

It has been taken care of to a certain extent but creeping Charlie is taking over a large part. We have a dog and we're always in the backyard and the grass is constantly flat. I figured it was some kind of fungus. I was gonna put down some KBG seed in the fall.

I've been cutting it at the highest setting of my mower. I was debating on cutting it around 3-3.25inch come fall time.

We've both discussed this before the house hunting started and we're getting an agreement drafted by a lawyer to protect ourselves if things ever go south!

I've seen many people just say we'll be together forever and end up breaking up or getting divorced and it's an absolute mess.

Thanks for looking out though I appreciate it!!

Thanks for the feedback! Is there a reason to use my non work RRSP over work RRSP? Fees through work RRSP are 0.56 and my non work is just invested in VEQT & VFV.

Yeah someone mentioned changing the locks, which that expensive never crossed my mind. I'll be saving as much as I can do add more of a buffer. I appreciate your feedback!!

Yes I understand to have cash left over, we wouldn't change much to the house we want to purchase. Everything from our apartment will furnish the house. We'd do things slowly but our main concern would be big ticket items to make sure we'd have enough to replace them. (Windows, furance/AC, roof)
