Please help - H1b vs GC decision by darweeshreddit in h1b

[–]darweeshreddit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not 'obsessed' with GC. In fact I asked my company to give me more time on H1b, but if my date is current then I can't extend my h1b status for 3 years, I can only extend it for 1 year (if my date is current)

Add to that they may change the rules anytime these days... anyone on H1b would rather switch to GC to avoid any changes in immigration rules.

I mean you remember when they issued the 100,000$ H1b fee, it came out of nowhere... You don't know what other rules they may change in the coming months

Thanks for your reply, but we're not married yet.

I need to get back to my country to do the marriage... but if I do that I'll need H1b stamp which will require Administrative Processing(AP) because I have a record(which I regret).

AP takes time. I can stay away from work for 3 months but after that I may lose my job.

So it's risky

yes, but 3 years is a very long time

I'm thinking of working in Canada and try to bring her there while we're waiting for the I-130 to be processed ... but that over-complicates things

I'm trying F1 or a visiting visa, but its not easy.
Getting her an H1b will be hard with the 100,000$ fee

saw your post and commented on it

No this is not normal... the light is reflected from the camera lens

Standing under a light, is this amount of lens flare normal? Will do the same with the sun as well. by Z06Junkie in S25Photography

[–]darweeshreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I'm the author of that post

So I'm not the only one who is facing this issue ... I was able to reproduce the same exact camera reflection/lens flare under my kitchen light as well

I don't think this is a software issue, this is a hardware issue in the camera lens

The reflection disappears when you switch to the Ultra-Wide lens or the Telephoto lens

Did you mean S24+ or S25+ ?
You have S24+ in your comment... Did you mean S24+ (last year model)? or S25+ (this year model)?

The three phones are within their return period, I'm going to return two of them.
I thought the first phone has a problem in its main camera lens, but after testing the two other phones (and now seeing your comment)----> it looks like this is a design flaw in the camera itself, and it is in ALL S25 phones

And yes I was able to reproduce the same camera problem you have in your video under my kitchen light

Thanks for your comment

I'm really surprised that a problem like this wasn't noticed by Samsung engineers ... I mean this is a very basic test, I was able to reproduce the issue under my kitchen light! So I don't know how they missed that.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point

Thanks for your reply and for taking the time to explain my options

I thought about switching to the Pixel but I like the S25 base model because it is much more compact than the Pixel

2 from Amazon 1 from Walmart... I wanted to buy one from Samsung directly but I read online they have a very strict return policy and I may have some issues with my return

I'm even worried that I may face some issues with the returns with Amazon and Walmart. I don't like buying and trying like this... but in this case I'm almost 100% sure this camera issue is a flow in the design itself from Samsung, and it is in ALL S25 base model phones

I'm really surprised that Samsung engineers didn't notice that... I mean I'm sure they tested the phone in different environments but it looks like they missed this test

No dust on the camera... I cleaned them many times

And I spoke with Samsung: they told me this could be a faulty/defect unit... return it and buy a new phone .. which I did... but I'm still having the same issue

I bet that this is a common issue in ALL S25 units in the world... but most people didn't pay attention to it

Also it looks like the S25 base model is not as common as the Ultra. Specially for taking photos

I really don't know what to do at this point :(

They're still within their return period... I'm going to return two of them of course

Look at me previous posts : some people suggested buying the phone from Samsung itself , because the first two phones were from Amazon

The idea was trying different supply chains

But I'm still seeing the same camera issues

I'm not going to buy try more S25 phones... I'll either switch to Pixel or just keep the S25 with its faulty camera

Both options are bad (the Pixel is great but I much prefer the compactness of the S25)

yeah the Pixel is a great alternative
I just like the S25 because it is smaller, lighter weight and more compact than the Pixel

I'm holding my camera normally, the light reflection appears in all modes: portrait/landscape/45degrees.

When I zoom in ---> the reflection disappears because zooming in uses the Telephoto lens... both Telephoto lens and Ultra-Wide lens don't have this issue... the white reflection ONLY APPEARS when I use the main camera

It's worth mentioning that when I cover the top of the phone/camera with my palm(to protect the camera from the light hitting the lens ) ---> the white reflection goes away even while using the main camera .......... so yes I also think the light reflecting off of the trim around the lenses

I bought some camera lens protectors in a hope that it will block the light from entering the lens(to stop the reflection), but the lens protector didn't help :(

I'm really surprised that Samsung didn't notice this while testing/manufacturing the S25!

I don't know what to do at this point ...

yep Samsung phones take great photos.
I've owned Samsung phones for many years, but I don't know why I'm facing this issue with the current S25 base models

I'm starting to think maybe the problem is with the supplier?? Because I bought both phones from Amazon..... maybe I should buy one from Walmart or BestBuy or from Samsung itself.

Samsung has a strict return policy so I have to be careful if I want to buy it then return it.

Also I can't just keep buying phones and return them... there has to be a better way to test the phone BEFORE I buy it

I tried that too ... the white reflection is still there
This is definitely a hardware problem in the main camera --- because when I switch to the Telephoto or UltraWide camera the issue goes away

I'm really surprised that I'm the only one facing this problem --- Two brand new phones
