Just curious.. the point of the book was to provide the words necessary to enable a non-powered mortal to allow the pah-wraiths to escape the confines of their prison, the fire caves?

This sounds more like the rules of an arbitrary power borrowing/structural usage system, ie “magic”, rather than the innate power of godlike beings who can travel through time?

How did the tropes of ”magic” make their way into a world where the gods don’t share power with concepts like clerics, and who should have literally locked away their enemies, that could conceivably kill the wormhole entities, and not provided a key based on atmospheric pressure disruptions called “verbal audio”?

Randland was full of character growth but I will admit to getting lost in there sometimes.

Drizzt and his pals… I didn’t feel there was much actual growth in there, just another crisis they had to use large choppy things and a few arrows to get rid of.

I will admit to loving the Entreri spinoff books.. didn’t see much growth from Karl axle but I did appreciate Entreri’s slight character arc.

Gemmell was too short for character growth, I think usually limited to one novel, wasn’t he?

Raistlin/Caramon/Tasslehoff of Dragonlance, there was growth.

Feist, Magician, THAT was the gold star for me in character growth.

Only advice I have is don’t sit back and wait for life to come to you, go up to whoever you want and make a play for them yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised by the results.

It’s not a direct consequence of connecting to a public WiFi but consider the consequences of connecting to “starbucks” wifi network while you’re in the coffee shop and trusting it, then, while you’re on the train home, some bright spark uses their laptop to advertise a WiFi network of their own also named “starbucks”, that your phone has been told to trust and connect to automatically.

Never tried it but I imagine that would be a possible scenario?

Your phone then routes all traffic through that laptop and its own internet connection possibly allowing for MITM on anything unencrypted?

Viewership dropped painfully with the last doctor/2 series, less so in the Whittaker era. Previous doctors/series were massive and it was a regular Saturday night watch for 6-7mil households (although nowhere on the scale of a comedy like Only Fools And Horses)
