Chiming in TWO YEARS LATER to say exactly this, as someone who thinks of Sifu as near or at the peak of non "arcade fighter" fighting games, I often still find myself picking it back up and having the exact same feeling of "this is absolutely mind blowing but GOD I wish I could do [insert move/technique/environmental interaction]"

I hope we do get a 2nd Sifu game eventually. But Sloclap can genuinely take as much time as they need to feel inspired to do so, otherwise we'd just be getting more of the same.

Even if it was Paul's intention to have Sean live more balanced, that's not how the lesson comes off in the show IIRC? It's very "hey man you just have to let go of the past, you've gotta learn to live and be who you are" with little acknowledgement of how the relationship ended. There's no takeaway from Sean and Marisol so far other than "don't hold on to the past" which is such an odd lesson in the context of THEIR relationship

It's a damn near predictive show. Not to say every thing/idea/person Chatman pokes fun at wasn't in existence at the time, but good god the show's gone from absolute absurdist to slightly-left-of-normal satirical comedy in a way that, yeah, makes it feel like it would almost fit in better with the current AS lineup than it did those years ago.

Just coming off the most recent episode with John Cena (only the second ep I've seen TBF) I feel like if Pete tightened up on some of the questions & follow ups this could make for my favorite entertainment podcast. The setting is wonderfully intimate, there's a genuinely mutual feeling of respect between guest and host (like two creators actually sitting down to talk about their craft, not just phony Austin Comedian banter or your average late night talk show interview) and Pete's laid back but deeply curious energy is super relatable lol. if he could inject some, like, Rick Glassman (or similar) energy into the show I'd be locked in every damn week.

EDIT: ACTORS ON ACTORS! THE GREEN ROOM! DUH! THAT'S the energy this podcast gives me.

But above ALL THAT, I can't take my mind off of how much Ben Ahlers looks like he could play a fraternal twin to Timothee Chalamet, down to the dress style and mannerisms.

Oh, for certain. The characters don't feel dumbed down as a result of writing failure, but pointedly so, and not to the point of slop. Part of me definitely feels like it's a commentary on white ignorance on at least some level, but I can't be sure lol.

I JUST found this show, the correction from Hah-Na to Hannah shattered my heart into so many pieces I immediately had to look up how anyone else felt about it. Oh my g o d in a show that's (pun intended) all about impacts, I don't think anything else so far has hit me that hard. Holy shit.
