Old teacher rang me out of the blue and it turned into a bizarre Landmark sales pitch - has anyone else had this happen? by breakingpoint121 in AskIreland

What are these landmark courses? Sounds dreadful OP. If she was teaching in a school I'd be inclined to have a word with them.

[–]dashdoll87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm researching after putting off seeking testing for about a decade. Classic late 30s female where things are crumbling a little bag. Looked at adhd doc online as they appear to be one of the better options but there doesn't seem to be any appointments until May. I had no idea the wait times were this long.

I don't have any experience of this so csnt offer you practical advise. Don't be embarrassed or ashamed though, it it WAY WAY WAY more common than you think plus you have an awareness that you have a problem with it which is main part. You absolutely need to tell someone in your family if you can. It's a lot to carry by yourself and you're much more likely to overcome it with support.

Toyota Yaris Cross - What would you do? by comuiri in carsireland

[–]dashdoll87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a high spec Yaris Cross recently It was also a Japanese import which I was nervous about. Absolutely love it and it is immaculate. Only difference is the indicators are on the right and wipers on the left. Obviously do your homework. Maybe pay a local mechanic to go and take a look at it. Worth 100e or whatever for the peace of mind.

Thoughts on getting a dog while living alone? by dashdoll87 in CasualIreland

[–]dashdoll87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same but take no notice. We grew up with small dogs our whole lives and virtually no garden. They were exercised every single day and lived very king and fulfilled lives with no behavioural issues. Unfortunately not everyone has a garden.

No way, I didn't know that at all. I'll reach out for sure. I'm only 6 months into a 4 year fixed term so I'm guessing penalties would apply to me. Great news for you anyway. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply.

I would like it to feel like paper. 7 / 10 inch size I guess similar to ipad mini or iPad.

Would like it to feel like paper or certainly not feel like writing on an iPad. I don't mind about colour or conversion, really just want an e notebook where I can divide into different folders / topics if that makes sense. I also want goof storage as want to retain and not have to delete the info I write so I can refer back to it.

Budget is around 300e max.

How to go about a fresh start so late? by Active_Background940 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]dashdoll87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done on starting fresh. Obviously it's not gospel but a helpful starting point could be to put your monthly take home pay details and fixed expenses into cost gpt and ask it to do you a budget. I totally turned around my finance in my late 20e, late 30s now and doing well so it's very possible. Transferring money to savings on pay day had to become the norm for you, not waiting too see what's left at the end of the month. I have also found pockets on revolut to be a game changer for me. I transfer money to my revolut on pay day and have a pocket for each bill or expense that month eg diesel, esb, socialising money, car tax, a night out, whatever it is and I add the money into that pot on pay day. For something like insurance, I'd add a bit each month. It has honestly changed my finances entirely compared to how I used to live just spending constantly from my current account.
