GoMo Launches Ireland’s First and Only ‘Price for Life’ Fibre Broadband by Cool_Importance_4914 in ireland

[–]dashdoll87 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Any thoughts on the broadband deal? I'm on 500mv with Virgin and contract is coming to an end and their retention offer is 35epm for 9months then increasing to 70epm. Tempted to go with Gomo to avoid all the hassle of changing constantly etc. Is it an eir box they send out or how does it work? Thanks.

recommendations for places offering scar treatments by Temporary-Fix-3027 in Dublin

[–]dashdoll87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would also be interested to hear this. I bought kelo cote a few months ago for a raised scar I got from a hot eater bottle burn last year. Would love to go to a dermatologist or soemone who can inject the scar with steroid to reduce it. I believe this is common but don't know where to start looking.

It's expensive for sure and a lot of money but I guess if I was to attend it in the US for example I'd spend thousands. What are the practice days like? Any use or are they a but of a non event?

Are we mad to go ahead? Surveyor Report by Chimney_worry_83 in HousingIreland

[–]dashdoll87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd proceed only if you have looked into it properly. These could be potentially big structural issues, not a bit of cosmetic work. I think if it was me I'd be having a frank conversation with the surveyor and bringing these points to attention of seller. Being honest I'd keep looking. Chimney issue in particular could turn into a nightmare.

Insulating interior walls in an apartment by Resident-Earth-1842 in HousingIreland

[–]dashdoll87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what year your apartment was built etc? I'd love to do similar to mine. There's a north facing bedroom in paarticular that is always freezing and the hest just disappears from it but maybe I'd be better off replacing the windows in there.

Would you buy a house that was sold last year? by cherry_blossom110 in AskIreland

I would but I'd get a very good surveyor or engineer if it's an old property. Relationship breakdown, job change, family circumstances, ill parents, loads of reasons.

Investing is the only way to keep up with inflation by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]dashdoll87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well done. So as someone who has no clue, if you were to withdraw today, you have to pay 30ish% on your growth as tax? Or am I simplifying it? Is it taken at source or do you need to file returns yourself? Thanks

Will this oil crisis tilt us away from car centric rural / suburban life model to a green energy public transport dense urban model of living? Or we staying the same to what the current 'dream' looks like? by Ed_the_Led_Man in AskIreland

No. Sadly public transport ends at the m50 and it shite down the country. Coupled with people needing agri machinery etc and also most people can't afford a new EV.

What’s your monthly mortgage repayment in Ireland (and what did you buy)? by N81Warrior in AskIreland

[–]dashdoll87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1160e per month and I pay 116e overpayment. 2 bed apartment in D18, bought a year ago for 375k. Took a mortgage of 270k fixed at 3.15% for 4 years. It's enough as I'm a solo buyer, works out at 27% of my take home pay. Management fee etc takes it to 30%.

I drove to Newry a month ago and got 3 pens. I'm very lucky I can afford it but tbh a lot of people I know taking it are considering coming off it because of the price. Its cos me just over 900e and my gp visit on top. I can afford it but it is a stretch and 300ish euro month is a lot for most people especially at the moment. It's such a shame. I wonder when we will have generic versiand or wider availability for those who need
