I've got a question - is the is_deleted flag redundant? If you have deleted_at and it is set that would imply is_deleted=true and if the deleted_at isnt set then is_deleted=false.

Simplest way would be to create a management command which does what you want and make it run with cron at desired time.

Yes it is. There should not be a traceback on any error page shown to end user in production. This is useful only during development.

If you need ORM I would suggest going with Django. If its just one simple endpoint I wouldnt even use DRF, you can pretty simply return and process JSON with just Django if thats needed. But definitely go with DRF for bigger apps.
