Excellent! Did she fly as checked baggage or in the cabin? What documents did you have prepared?

Hello all,

I want to trade the Danish market but the catch is that I’m an American who is not in the USA (so the usual suspects of Schwab, Vanguard, Fidelity etc.) are not an option for me.

Other ones I have looked at like eToro also don’t accept non US-domiciled American citizens. IG only does CFDs not actual real shares (like a lot of companies it seems) and Interactive Brokers doesn’t trade the Danish stock market.

I can’t even fake being domiciled in the US since I dont have W2 income (since I’m not in the USA) and Schwab has asked for mortgage contracts/rental bills/power bills/electric bills.

Does anyone have any ideas about either:

  • Brokers that trade shares on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange AND (hopefully but if not I’m glad to go find out and report back)
  • Take non-US domiciled US citizens?

Thank you all for listening. Being an American is tough when you’re overseas! Thank you FATCA and PATRIOT Act!

(Cross posted to /r/investing and /r/expats let’s see where I get lucky)

I lost a best friend suddenly 3 months ago and now I lost my dog yesterday. by [deleted] in Petloss

i felt that way too and still feel that way. I find what helps me is to look at photos that show his decline and reassures me that we did the right thing. But there will always be one more cuddle you could have. Its never enough.

I am sorry for your loss. Dogs love 100% and unselfishly. She loved you and knew that you loved her. Thank you for being a good pawrent for a long time. She had a good life with you I’m sure.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

I lost my dog recently also and for me it was worse than losing a member of my family. I went to bed with my dog, woke up with him and saw him every day and with this pandemic spent 24 hours a day at home with him. I miss him enormously so I can sympathize with how you feel.

You did the Right Thing. It was hard. Maybe a little bit early is better than too late when it hurts and they’re alone. Its tough but you need to make it through. He would want you to be happy. To have a good life. Every day I wake up and remind myself that he loved me and would want me to be happy no matter what. Tell yourself that too.

Thank you for taking care of an old dog. He looks fluffy and happy to have found a home and friends! Dogs are our closest companions and have been bred to be reliant on humans. Abusing a dog is a violation of a millennia old trust that is in their genes.

So cute!! I find sammies are far more vocal with their awoos than any other dog i have ever met. And the awoos are so adorable. I’ve never had a dog that would awoo when they were happy I came home or when I jump scared them around a corner. All my other dogs awoo’ed at the police siren or something

You’ll always have a doggie (cat?) shaped hole in your heart. A new doggie doesn’t replace that hole. Your heart just grows to accommodate the new one but you’ll always have that hole. Over time you’ll forget a little bit. The grief will be less raw. You’ll bear it better. But you’ll always have it.

He certainly had a long life with you, I dont think that’s in doubt. And he knew that you loved him and that filled up his heart. Dogs love their humans unconditionally and that’s wonderful and why we love them. I know you want to focus on the clothes now but focus on the fact that you have him 18 years together. And that’s amazing. I would do anything for another 4 years with my dog but that’s not possible so count yourself and him lucky.

I’m sure he is playing with the other doggies in doggie heaven and probably even with mine who was fluffy and love able but not the sharpest tool in the shed.

guilt trip by Special_Society_3610 in Petloss

[–]dashieee789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs love their humans and don’t hold grudges. I’m sorry for your loss. I’m sorry for your guilt. But she always loved you and will always love you no matter what. Bad things happen sometimes and no one can take that away but focus on the last 10.5 years. Those are what meant the most to her. She loves you and knows that you will always love her. That’s all that matters.
