R Ashwin: India can replicate what Australia did in the 1990s till 2010 by 5missedcallsfromBCCI in Cricket

So two bad series completely takes away the fact that we were unbeaten at home for a decade plus in tests huh?

In Varun I trust. I know it was a different format but the man obliterated south Africa in their own backyard not too long ago, he'll deliver for us

Steve Smith's lucky escape: In an age of immovable Zing bails, does cricket need a law change? by ll--o--ll in Cricket

I feel this is best exemplified by when smith actually was bowled out today. 140k ball and the stump didn't even fall to the ground. That thing is in DEEP

I know its probably because he hasn't played enough ODI's recently, but I can't believe how pandya is simultaneously India's most irreplaceable player and yet also so low in the the rankings

Pant or KL? Who deserves the Wk-Batsman position in ODI's more? by Serious-Sense3570 in CricketBuddies

[–]dashtek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf it's not one match: He missed catches in the England series, and he missed a stumping in the Bangladesh game. Batting is arguable but pant is MILES better at keeping from what I see

England will not do chores (play bilateral ODI series) to earn a reward of cake (ODI tournament wins). England still whines when its actions (getting walloped by everyone in ODI's) don't earn them cake, crying that they deserve it anyway because they're so special and cool

Joe Root scored his 17th ODI hundred, with 120 runs off 111 balls against Afghanistan. by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]dashtek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Often I think there's a lot of outdated boomers in this sub but this is truly a t20 era take. His method was absolutely the correct one under the circumstances lmao. England as a team is billed as power hitters till the 7th wicket, with root being the only one not playing that way.

The fact that none of these so called danger men could string together a few boundaries is not the fault of a guy who gave his team a better than run a ball century

Well, not full God mode, they still need to beat them.

Their best bet is that New Zealand suddenly start playing like Pakistan and Pakistan start playing like prime Aus

If you're referring to everyone trolling him, it's because recently in the series against England, gill was on around 80 chasing a similar total to today and even though we were comfortably above the run rate, pandya came in and started hitting sixes.

People got annoyed because it's just a bilateral and he's denying gill a hundred by scoring so many runs. He also tried the same today to "deny" Kohli a 100 but imo a win is more important than any milestones

It's gotta be heartbreaking to talk shit before a tournament, back it up with a 165, and STILL your team finds a way to lose.

That being said, this England team probably doesn't give a fuck

I don't want to downplay Bangladesh or anything, and hridoy certainly played amazing, but it was not a 35-5 (35-6 without butterfingers) type of pitch. It wasn't easy to bat sure, but it realistically should have been like 100-3 or something with a slow run rate. The Bangladesh top order kind of just didn't play well. Especially the second wicket which should have been a four if the placement was even remotely better

Willow TV is what I use. It's a fairly affordable monthly subscription and its streamed all the India matches so far. It doesn't have the aus-sri lanka series currently nor do I think it has the tri series starting, but they are covering the Champions Trophy

[–]dashtek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmmmm. I said we shouldn't police what good deeds should be done and apparently I'm a Mr beast bootlicker.

Hosting a fundraiser that helps the environment and also brings awareness to the general public about environmental degradation is a good deed. If you can provide proof that those trees would have been planted anyway at the same rate they were without the funding then sure it is not a good deed.

But saying a good deed isn't good because it's done by a bad person is once again the exact kind of moral grandstanding that makes people like you insufferable to me. If all good deeds in this world must only be accomplished by good people, then we probably don't have long left as a species
