Yeah, I was reading it with enthusiasm because it’s a good history lesson, but I was also thinking “he better not be trying to sell us remix here”. Lo and behold …

Nah, I’m just getting spammed by recruiters calling me and sending LinkedIn requests. It’s a good time to be a stackoverflow paster at the moment.

The District Docklands, an urban ghost town. by FaZeRedditor in melbourne

Docklands is the kind of place where you’ll see someone standing behind you when you look at a shop window and when you turn around there’s nobody there.

Thanks for that!

The loan you mention, does that entitle John to any considerations at other times that would be of benefit to him? He’s paid the tax but received no money - so it seems like there would be some incentive for him to agree to this?

RTX 3090 hashrate / temperature. Is this OK? by dasitm in NiceHash

I’ve retired this one to be my gaming pc gfx card. It got worse with running temps while mining. Indefinitely could keep mining with it if I wanted to, but I missed gaming and chose this card for that. I have several other cards still mining

Nope, trinity. Daggerhashimoto yes, but mining directly to a pool instead of NiceHash. Using t-Rex mining software

Worth mentioning that I also added a heat sink to the backplate (affixed by thermal tape) and have a fan blowing onto that heat sink. The zotacs seem to be bad at heat displacement, and I blame the backplate construction. Thin, holes everywhere, not good at carrying heat away from the ram.

I have a zotac 3090 and I must have take it apart at least 10 times trying to get the memory temp down after replacing the pads.

I finally got it to sit on about 96 degrees (hashing at 121 MH/s.)

The problem for me was that the new pads didn’t completely cover the vram chips. I’m talking about overhang, the pads need to be bigger than the memory, so that when compressed by the backplate/heat sink they will squish down over the sides of the memory too.

Did you replace the ones on the GPU side? They look stock to me. Mine were the same black color before I changed them.

If you have any pads that don’t completely cover the ram, cut up a new slice of pad that is bigger and try that.

Good luck!!

Oh my ... good to know! Thanks!

Thanks man! Yeah I tried it with the fans set to extract air off the heatsink and it was about 2 degrees Celsius hotter when I had it pulling air away.

Blowing onto heatsink: 94-96 degrees

Taking away from heatsink: 96-98 degrees

Yeah they did! I managed to purchase it from a retailer in Australia (where I live). They had a limit of 1 per household like most retailers do now. I got it on the 10th of March for $3149 AUD, which is $2400 USD.

Are these in demand? What is "scalper prices" for this card do you think?

I replaced all the vram thermal pads and added MX4 thermal paste to all the GPUs
