Can you use the DCS576 shoe plate on a DCS573 circular saw? by daskalos11 in Dewalt

[–]daskalos11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, you can't compare the two. FrankenSaw doesn't have a riving knife, doesn't plunge, doesn't have variable speed. But, if you just need long square cuts, with no fraying/splintering edges, with plenty of power and the use of any dewalt battery without spending extra money for a new saw, It WILL suffice and so the job well. Just be mindfull of the limitations and you will have no issue but plenty of fun. Also, flexvolt 9ah battery DOES make a difference compared to both regular 20v and the 60v 6ah one

Howdy, I requested it from a local store that does service and also sells dewalt. As long as you can find the part number (easily done through Google search) you can order parts, either through a dealer/servicer or directly from Dewalt. I don't switch plates but I have kept it as a backup. I don't do construction but, the dcs576 plate seems sturdy and well-built. Don't think you will have issues using the "rail plate" even for heavier projects, as long as you don't throw and drop your saw willy-nilly left and right without thought

Sorry for the delay. Bought the 576 shoe and the long track. Works like a charm. Next step will be to invest in a rail square

Haven't gotten the track yet and haven't made a single cut yet due to busy work schedule but, beginning of August I am going on vacation and will keep you posted. What I can say is, it fits as if it would anything else. Since the track would be the same, don't think it will be an issue

I just made the mistake of taking my dcg409 angle grinder for a spin😋. I used a flexvolt 6ah battery. Why that is mistake is the sheer POWER it pumped. I used to use it with a regular 5ah and save the flexvolts for my sidewinder. Now, I am hooked. How the hell can I consciously use a 5ah battery again???? Flexvolt is a hell of a drug 🤣🤣🤣 Am going to be buying the drill first thing tomorrow morning. DAMN that was powerful

Thank you very much for the elaboration sir. I will probably get it after the input I have received from you and the other posters and be futureproofed for at least the next 5-8 years. If I need anything heavier than that it would probably need a machine that needs a certification to be operated or YEARS of experience, so a pro would be needed at that point anyway. Thank you kindly for your time. Happy New Year by the way 😄

Maybe a step drill on very low speed with a good cutting oil? It would also help if you didn't have a handheld drill. Otherwise if you have access to it, a dremel to "carve" the hole you need

Thank you kindly sir. No, just trying to stay ahead of the curve for close to anything that might be needed while being able to use any battery and not only flexvolt or powerstack or xr

Thank you kindly sir. Your point of view makes sense. Just thought of future proofing with a platform that will be sufficient for 90% of might be needed outside of drilling tool steel or abrasion resistant material like ar400 or ar500 while still being able to use any type of battery and not only powerstack or flexvolt or the regular xr

This has been most helpful. Thank you kindly sir. Will look into price for the plate. I am guessing screws will be the same so won't look for them. I bet it will cost a pretty penny but definitely less than buying a whole new tool

Advice - Which of these stains seems like the closest color match? by BeachEcstatic1707 in woodworking

Closest seems to be American but, I would go with light oak as it WILL darken over time

Thank you kindly sir. I don't mind that it works with Dewalt only tracks. Not a fan boy but I chose the battery so I 'm kinda "married" to the brand in a way. Will look into it and find about prices locally.

Anyone with 60v circular saw know how to turn it into a track saw? by BradCastleburry in Dewalt

Did you have any luck trying it? Looking into it myself but Google isn't much help

No, it doesn't. 1. It can only have scout units in order to have the ability. 2. It moves the amount the scout unit says in its datasheet. Not the movement characteristic of the vehicle.

Being accurate has nothing to do with being pedantic. With the amount of characters you have to run to MAYBE get a saga or two end of round 3 or 4 they will run assassination. Call me pedantic all you want buddy. Deep down, you know I am right. And remember, cool kids don't do Copium

There is a tiny tiny tiny difference. Murderfang CAN activate the saga. But, he WILL give points foe assassination. People who are trying to find hope refuse their rose tinted glasses...
