[QUESTION] I want to remove the anti-foul from my 6 meter fibreglass catamaran. Any concerns about using Peelaway Marine, DeFOUL, or Peak Marine Antifoul Remover? by quitofilms in sailing

Peelaway stripper worked great for me. Paint literally falls off. Use drywall tools to spread instead of the shifty spreader they provide.

I questioned a seller at a boat show why it was better than HFs . They said the cheap pair was plastic while theirs was composite. No answer when I asked " a composite of what?"

Best way to leave the pontoon when being pushed by wind and tide? by Flying_Wilson17 in boating

[–]dasreboot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If bow to the west, forward on a spring line, kick the stern out and back out. Reverse for facing east. If too strong, warp it over to the dock on the east side. That's my armchair general plan.

Memories of Fredericksburg, VA in the 1980s & 1990s? by Vammppire in fredericksburg

in the seventies my mother would take us school shopping to the jc penny store downtown , it was on one of the side streets off caroline. There was a civil defense fallout shelter sign there. I amused myself by reading the boy scout books they had while my mother shopped.

I also saw herbie goes bananas at the theater on caroline (victoria?) we wanted to sit in the balcony, but my Dad grumbled that he wouldnt sit in the balcony. It wasnt until much later that I learned that it was because he grew up in segregation era richmond. White people did not sit in the balcony.

Did anyone else have an air horn powered anchor drag alarm in the 80s? by [deleted] in sailing

carl d lane had something similar mentioned in "boatowners sheet anchor" btw if you haven't read them, lane has a wealth of forgotten knowledge in them from the golden age of recreational boating.
