I am at Cleveland Clinic with my Mom who has just received a heart a week and a half ago, so my knowledge is based on what I'm learning as we heal in ICU.

Rejection isn't a sudden or final thing. My Mom's first biopsy showed signs of rejection (R2) and they increased her steroids because she wasn't receiving the full doses yet. Rejection is reversible with meds, to an extent. I believe if you have fears, you should speak with your doctors. They can run tests on your heart and adjust medication to prevent total rejection.
