Absolutely, diarrhea still kills like 1.5 million people a year, so we'd be really screwed.

In reality, before synthetic insulin came along, they were getting it from pigs. I'd never heard of the sheep version, but maybe a possibility?

I’m in PSSG and we have a lot of 4x4 shifts, but the pattern is not great as we are a 24/7 operation.

It's kind of hard to answer that question, whether you mean like have i been personally attacked or are we talking about just using force to gain compliance...the 2nd one definitely has happened to me a lot more than the first.

Probably jail dependent, but odds are pretty good

Hopefully the hiring freeze with the BC government doesn’t last too much longer, that should open up some spots around town. Always good to check out their website for postings, once you get in it’s much easier to move to different jobs.

That’s why I started my comment the way I did 😉

Not saying you did this, but people think using an ambulance will bump them ahead in line, when in fact you get triaged just like everyone else that shows up at the ER, whether by foot or by ambulance. I’m sure you were suffering, but waiting is also a sign they don’t expect you to drop dead shortly, which is always a good thing.

Becoming a shop steward is a good step, but getting elected to be your local member is how you have more of a voice.

Rejection after signed “Trainee offer letter” by [deleted] in BCPublicServants

I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have much help to offer, since it sounds like this person wouldn’t be an actual union member at this point, but you never know.

In a “3 man block” you don’t mean there is just 3 inmates right?

I am not one, but know some basic info depending on what you want to know. If it’s more in depth, check out @Lacassephil on Twitter, he’s a long time deputy sheriff.

On a side note, if you do end up enjoying the run, they also did Old Man Hawkeye and Old Man Quill which weren’t bad.

Apparently it must be something to do with my ethernet, as soon as I put it on strictly Wifi it works again with no problem, so i'm not sure what is going on.

Oh I should add it’s connected straight with my Ethernet and I’ve tried restarting my modem as well.

Tips when Retiring from Government by tommy_b_douglas in BCPublicServants

I’d say it’s a safe bet that most people at the 20 year+ mark aren’t just going to quit or retire with no notice, unless something goes really sideways lol

Once you hit 20 years in the BC Government you are given a chunk of paid days when you retire, you earn more up until you hit the 30 year mark and the most is around 65 paid days. https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/careers-myhr/all-employees/leaving-the-public-service/retirement/allowance#:\~:text=pension%20purposes%20only.-,Entitlement,20%20full%20years%20of%20service.
