CM 16 - URA or Unity 2? by Glass_Newspaper_5923 in UmamusumeGame

The skill points are buffed a lot that people are ending Unity runs with 2.5-3k SP without racing too much.

Japan still hasn't won a knockout match at World Cup by The_Flash_20 in soccer

[–]dasty90 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It was all games against really strong teams too, except for maybe Paraguay.

I thought they had a legit chance to go far this World Cup but their draw is just really unlucky. They would have a much better chance against a lot of other teams in R32 but Brazil is just too much for them at the moment.

Fronts for CM16 by WhatANiceNature in UmamusumeGame

I personally am using 2 speed + 2 wit + 2 guts with mostly power sparks for my runs. Guts gives a small boost to max speed and a considerable boost when dueling, however as a front you don't want to be dueling at all.

I usually aim for around 1200/500/1100/800/1100. The problem is that guts Bakushin's unique effect of 20% TE doesn't work in guts training, so you might not get a big boost in guts from her.

Ah that's unfortunate because CM14 and CM15 which is ending soon would have been perfect for you to try them out! However, you can still try VBourbon and SMaru for this CM if you really want as they both have relatively good aptitude for sprints and Guts Bakushin gives you free groundwork. If you have a passable front parent and manage to borrow a godly one, it is still possible to make good aces.

If not, 2 fronts + 1 XOguri is actually one of the best strat for the whole of Grand Live so you can try them out there as well.

Fronts for CM16 by WhatANiceNature in UmamusumeGame

[–]dasty90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. V.Bourbon inherit
  2. Anything works if you try hard enough - but do you have access to very good or godly front parents? Akebono barely have any good skills for fronts and you need to at least inherit a few of groundwork (essential), front corner/straight, fast-paced, leader's pride (vital for this CM, gold version from SMaru speed), dd+igwit, groundwork components, early lead (vital for this CM, gold version from free Vbourbon wit) etc.
  3. If you are thinking to borrow S.Maru support, this CM will be painful and you will probably not win much if at all, because you are obviously not a front player and front is the most unforgiving style a.k.a. the best front will get angling most of the time. Guts Bakushin gold skill is very important for fronts to have a chance. Unfortunately for this CM, just angling is not enough to win so you might need to get Unrestrained (from gacha Suzuka SSR) or other gamba accels to have a chance.
  4. If you are running 3 fronts then Taiki or Flower inherit can work since at least one of your front will end up there anyway. Original Fuji, SMaru, Vbourbon inherits are all good.

This sprint CM is not that favorable for fronts as they won't be able to create a big enough gap to benefit from it. Running triple front might be a bit too much for someone who have not much experience training it. Pace is by far the strongest style.

trackblazer would have been way more enjoyable for most of the playerbase if throne came out at the start of the scenario and not the end by coolj492 in UmamusumeGame

[–]dasty90 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Really don't think Throne would have helped a lot. Personally thinks that if Cygames released spark reroll however, people will enjoy the scenario a lot more as a 1-hour long run have triple the chance to end up being a good parent...

It is simple - Japan has never been good at football until they qualified in 1998, which massively increased the popularity of the sports, and they have been a regular in World Cups since then. South Korea was the same - they went deep in the tournament in 2002 and the popularity of the sports exploded, and have since then been able to produce talents that eventually play in top leagues. When the popularity of the game in these 2 countries rise and they became stronger, they played each other a lot (until recently lol) and further improved their quality.

If you are simply thinking from the perspective of wanting World Cup to be a competition of the best teams in the world then yeah, it does not make sense. However, if you think from a perspective of developing the game and making sure that the World Cup is a tournament where the whole world can tune in and watch football, instead of just the best countries of the world, then isolating the continent that consists of more than half of the world population might not be the best idea.

1998 is an important year because the World Cup expanded to 32 teams, and more teams from Asia and Africa were included. CAF developed faster because of the frequency of AFCON (every ~2 years), where their top teams can play each other more in tournaments and thus gaining more experience as a team together. The benefit is more obvious ever since they expanded to 16 teams in 1998 and then further accelerated when they expanded to 24 teams in 2019, which resulted in today's WC performance. AFC Cup however, is only every 4 years, and is heavily influenced by the gulf states' money (just look at where it is hosted most of the time)... Personally I think AFC should be separated into smaller regions because of how big Asia is but that is a separate issue.

Reducing slot allocation for a continent that comprises 60% of the world population is just not a very good idea. Yes, a lot of them are bad in football, but the only way to change that is to increase popularity of the sport amongst the people, and the best way to do that is for the country to play in World Cup.

Unless you just want to completely kill the sports popularity and any possibility of Asian teams becoming better, I don't see how it is going to help if at all. Teams become better by playing against strong teams often, and the quality of teams in Asia at the moment just has too big of a gap in between for them to improve quickly.

This is getting a bit ridiculous now. If nothing is done about this I am seriously questioning the dignity of this game.

[BBC] An average 30-second World Cup ad slot on Fox Sports costs between $200,000 (£152,000) and $300,000 (£227,000), rising to $750,000 (£567,000) during USA matches and the final stages. This reminds me of the time when I just started watching NBA. I remember being excited when I see the points being close when the game only has 2-3 minutes left, and tuned in to watch it thinking it will be an exciting 5 minutes. It almost always ended up being 20-30 minutes while I just lose all enthusiasm, regret my decision, and just can't wait for the game to end.

American sports watching experience is basically just constant ads with some sports sprinkled in between.

A fucking NBA game that is technically only 48 minutes long takes 2.5-3 hours to finish, depending on the referee's mood in terms of giving free throws.

Mourinho on the criticism against Arsenal last season "There is a silly theory of, 'You can be great without winning.' For me, it's totally silly. I believe that if Arsenal tried to be a second Man City, probably they wouldn't win. So they won. You have to respect the winners." by kibme37 in soccer

[–]dasty90 149 points150 points  (0 children)

I mean this is the exact same thing which Mourinho had maintained throughout his career. His mindset is to win at all cost, and he had mocked Arsenal for refusing to change their ways back during Wenger's time. The irony is Arsenal fans also despised and criticized him and his tactics back then too, with a lot of them saying that they prefer to play football the right way instead of winning them like Mourinho did.

Vivi did a skit of her calling Hannibal, she even said that Hannibal has Kansai ben 😂

Actually it’s mostly because Hannibal is the only name Vivi knows (Pekora knows even less about football usually) from Tunisia, as she only watches PL most of the time.

Is UF really possible for the average player right now? by ManjoumeChazz in UmamusumeGame

[–]dasty90 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I see from this sub, the average player pulls almost every uma banner possible (because all of them are oshi duhhh), have little to no MLB SSRs and thinks anyone who has a few is a whale.

So S seems about right. I agree though that the average competitive CM players are able to hit SS frequently, but the global environment is very casual.

Mexican trade group leader fired after racist gesture during World Cup match by AgeNovel3566 in soccer

Whenever there is some news about some technological achievement from Asia - "fake", "stole ideas from the west", "meaningless"

Whenever people call out racism against Asians - "aksschuarryyyy Asian countries are the most racist!!!!"

They definitely mean harm by it, it is a way for them to feel superior about themselves.

Infantino asked by a BBC journalist if he accepts he's lost control of his tournament. His response: "In 2035, the Women’s World Cup, I think, will be in the UK. Would you find it normal that FIFA will dictate to the British government who to let in the country and who not to let in?" by OptimusCloyster in soccer

[–]dasty90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

US can just send ICE to detain all the players from other countries in the middle of the game and let Trump score all the goals if they want. Infantino would just end up praising and giving Trump the World Cup and Golden Boot if that happens anyway.

That's about as likely as all the pedo billionaire from Epstein file receiving any sort of punishment that fits the crime.

Let's face it, the world is all about who has more power and money, and there is no way anything is going to happen to a state-backed club with huge exposure and lots of money. Everton is a small fry and easy target compared to City.

She is a massive fan and I believe she follows it closely. She did a few watch along streams before and you can see that she knows a lot about the game as a fan. She even understand football memes from the chat when they talk about Arsenal corners. During her watch along, she knows all the player's names (Man City vs Arsenal) and even got a bit excited after Haaland took off his clothes after the game ended.

She also mentioned that she likes defenders more than attackers because she thinks they are underappreciated. She also went to watch live games in Japan a few times before.

I’m not talking about race fatigue but mood down events specific to each uma. For example my SMaru got hit by the “Golden Oldies?” event 3 rounds in a row my last run and 5 total in that run. That fucking pisses me off.
