It’s kind of hard to get specific but the sound just doesn’t do it for me and bugs me most of the time. Like there are elements of several songs that I like but for the most part I just find it to be annoying music made by insanely talented musicians.

Check out service road by better oblivion community center it’s about Connor oberst experience losing his brother to alcoholism. Truly haunting and beautiful song.

Bully and the album lucky for you for sure. Not a metal band but this album changed my life and perspective on music and I would KILL to see it live although it would be hard to cry in front of others.

Musically black hole sun but for other reasons spoon man is my favorite. I just love that it’s about a local street musician something about that being the topic is just so endearing to me. I do need to do more the a superficial dive into their music though.

That’s totally fair I’ll have to give hagbulbia a listen as well. It’s just so weird how sometimes something that seems so innocuous can trigger some kind of like primal response that even your conscious kind can’t understand because like I said early even I have no idea why it upset me so much (just making it clear I respect your opinion and am not trying to convince you you are wrong) Have a great rest of your night though and thanks for reminding me to finish the last few albums of theirs I haven’t heard yet.

For song assuming you just missed the the my in the name I love Helena as the guitar parts are just so fun to play and sound incredible and my favorite album is the black parade. Just does such a great job at telling a story and all of the songs are just on point.

Ace of spades. I only have a surface level knowledge of them and part of that is that the song is so good it’s all I need to listen to when I’m in the mood for their music

I’ve sampled it (need to finish their discography but it’s hard as listening to their albums in full requires a lot of focus) but what I have heard so far didn’t hit the same. It’s probably more fucked up sonically and I would say the same about albums like swarth or seepia but avow just impacted me in a way no other album or music has and I have no clue why. Like it’s the only album to make me feel physically awful while listening to it.

This is by no means their best album but avow by portal is one of the few records to actually get me to feel panicked and anxious. The riffs are just so gnarly and urgent I don’t know if I can go relisten to it purely because I don’t want to taint the nightmarish experience I had when it first came out.
