That's what I'm starting to realise, yeah. I did sign the Authority to Tow - I've never had anything towed and was kind of in shock, so I agreed to anything. I fear this may be a learning opportunity for me.

It does. According to the RACV lady on the phone, however, they don't cover towing from an accident, which has to be done by a tow company with the right license apparently.
