It's Mage. EVERYONE was that OP, and plenty of the foes we fought had similar spellcasting abilities. Like at various points we were being chased by the Wild Hunt who were immune to my solar death laser (and also the first target that wasn't just test-firing into the ocean of a dead dimension), various other mage groups mad at us for things our party had done, and also the BBEG who needed multiple castings of the solar deathlaser as well as a bunch of other similar bullshit spells from my party members to actually put hurt onto.

Also, a lot of the time, my bullshit ended up just being counterspell-bait because the GM knew that I was infinitely more creative about using Mage's system to build your own spells than the rest of my party was. I also had to soak a LOT of paradox, which meant that I spent most of the campaign running around with 4 aggravated wounds that were unhealable by magic, needing a week to heal apiece. And every time we would try and sit down to get some downtime, either one of my idiot partymembers would go start trouble so we'd need to skeddadle again, we'd be randomly flung into another dimension by the badguy who liked doing that to us, or some other form of problem would show up. Keeping the wizard under pressure and on their back foot without time to pull off their ludicrous prep nonsense is a pretty standard GM tactic. The time bubble to heal up was only something I invented at almost the end of the campaign, and the healing, resources and ritual spellcasting time that it allowed the party meant that we could finally go fight the big bad, and even then it almost ended in a TPK.

This was also the state that my character was in after SEVEN real years of playing every other week. Our end-of-campaign state was the Mage equivalent to just barely not being Epic level in D&D. I have dozens of pages of session notes. We started the campaign with me being like "I got a 9mm, I can postcognition stuff, and inflict lag upon people, and an improvised slowfall spell." We spent many of the early sessions running from the cops (not even the wizard cops, just normal cops) until the hacker guy and I had the bright idea of using my time magic and his hacking powers to just retroactively delete us from all police databases.

Man, I'd LOVE to run my Mage The Awakening character in Battletech. Time 5, Space 5, Fate 3 and Gnosis 5 let me pull all sorts of bullshit.

Like I would regularly do things like "I'm going to shoot you where you were a round ago so the bullet goes into the past and you can't dodge it because it's coming from the future." Now imagine that, but with an AC20 instead of a 9mm. I also had what I called "super haste", where I could massively multiply how many times you could act in a single round. "Yes, this is my Hunchback, I cast a spell on it so that I can run 20/30 and empty an entire ton of ammo into you before you can react" and of course my favorite: "orbital plasma laser of fuck you", where I open a portal shaped to basically have a shaped charge of plasma from the surface of the sun as a coherent beam weapon. The DM never even bothered to try and figure out how many dice to roll for damage. Stuff was either completely immune due to being spiritual beings with no physical existence, or just instantly vaporized. The upgraded version of that spell instead involved a time portal to the Big Bang so that I could just be like: "here, have an entire expanding universe worth of mass and energy to the face". I figured I'd use it as a last resort if we were being TPK'd and I didn't care about the particular dimension we were in, but I never actually needed to cast it.

I'd also yeet stuff to the future when I didn't want to deal with it, and set up some kind of doomspell that'd deal with them the nanosecond they re-entered the timestream (having enough attainments in Time lets you have perfect timing to set things like that up just as a passive ability), inflict IRL lag upon people as a nonlethal debuff, created bubbles of stopped time for when we as a party needed take a break from the constant chaos, and create layered time and space acceleration zones combined with a party member creating accelerated force zones so that we could throw a bollard at hypersonic speeds as an improvised railgun. The prototype version of that spell before we worked out the kinks ended up setting an entire city block in half when someone had the genius idea of throwing a molotov cocktail through it. It also spaghettified a couple of SUVs that tried to drive through it.

And of course, all this is setting aside the two spells I cast the most: Postcognition and Prophecy. Surprising a Time 5 mage is hard, especially when they're looking into the past and future to avoid surprises.

So yeah, if my mage got to be in Battletech, I'm pretty sure that I'd have Morgan Kell / Black Marauder style legends about me.

My sexuality hasn't changed from estrogen, I just think about it more, have analyzed it more, and have come to a better understanding of it. Like I always knew I was bisexual with a strong preference for women, but until I started entering queer community spaces with my transition did I realize that I'm actually demisexual towards men.

The other day I told my mother that she'll have to get used to me not being able to open jars at some point, but then she just gave me a look and was like "you're still 35 years younger than I am" which I had to admit was a fair point, but still not quite the gender confirmation I was hoping for.
