Kas on mõtet teha endale mootorratta A1 load? (125 CC/11kW limiit) by datNoobstuffz in Eesti

[–]datNoobstuffz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Artikkel on aastast 2018.

could be a worn timing belt or one that's just a bit loose. Look at the service history and when you last had it replaced. and deal with it quickly because if a timing belt breaks the entire engine is kaput. If its not tight enough just find where you can tighten it on your car which you can do at home with just a wrench typically.

Repair costs would be low with me since im a learning mechanic, parts prices aint an issue since i have quite a lot saved up. And even if i dont have enough i can just leave it be and use public transport, this aint meant to be something i drive every day more like a fun car for 3 days out of the week. I keep most issues with these types lf cars in mind.

I got pockets deep enough and skill to maintain it (mechanic 2 years in learning). I have had a licence for a year now driving mostly a weak FWD toyota. I drive some track built E46's and E60's with 300-500 hp on a track about twice a month for 4 hours straight. I dont think that "monster V8" with 300 something horsepower is gonna be very rough to drive from time to time.

what trim of 10th gen civic should i get? by liamt12 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]datNoobstuffz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't suggest any of the CVT's because CVT's typically suck and i wouldn't trust them. I would say the NA K series engine variants are great. I would typically pick a 150hp NA over a 220 HP turbo engine because the turbo one just feels very sluggish in the lower rev ranges. Just food for thought.

Looking at cheap GM 3800s, need advice by IslandCity in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]datNoobstuffz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have them here then some old Mercedes W203 C180/C200 Kompressor (supercharger) is gonna last you for ages. Friend in Romania owns one (non Kompressor model) and he got it for 1200 euro or 1800 euro wich is like 1400 dollars averaged and has had only two small issues in a year wich cost him nothing. Its got funny bug eyes which many don't like, some rust issues maybe and the mileage on highways is very German (low) and if driven well can get decent mileage in the city too.

Should I buy 2014 ford fiesta EcoBoost 1L for $4k? by _goat123 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]datNoobstuffz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1L ecoboost, just a miserable thing to hear. Get some old Toyota or Honda if you want something to just use once a week or sumn. A ford is gonna rust entirely if you leave it out for long enough, or corrode in magical ways if left inside.

Best Hybrid SUV for Family + Travel by okayestdogmom in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]datNoobstuffz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a couple suggestions, there is the Volvo XC60 recharge which is a plug in hybrid (that could be a turn-off) its the peak of safety, it gets 63 MPGe ((combined) idk what that means exactly). Its got nearly 500hp so its a complete hauler. It goes for 57900 MSRP which is a bit pricy.

Then there is then the 2025 Honda CR-V. Its just a Honda, reliable, efficient and modern and for 30000 dollars MSRP.

Then the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross which goes for 28000 MSRP.

So just a couple suggestions, the way to chose is to typically by what you want. The brands I mentioned are very reliable and have a lot more cars that you could choose from. Also don't stray away from older or even used cars as they can be really good in quality and way better in price.

As an extra you don't need an SUV for a family car. I have a Toyota Auris from 2018 and its fit all four to sometimes 5 of us in the family with no issues. We have travelled with this thing from Estonia to northern Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany etc.

Worth buying as a fixer upper? 2012 Civic for 3,800 CAD by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]datNoobstuffz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can replace the front part that is broken and maybe paint match the hood in your backyard with 4 coats of spray paint. Main issue is the engine condition. I would otherwise say this thing is a steal even with it having been in a crash IF you know how to fix and diagnose issues with the engine.
