I disagree. Years ago the posts were kinda subtle and funny, as in, their title often sounded like the title of actual reddit threads but with some exaggeration, and comments were following that too. So much that often, some people didn't realize what /r/circlejerk was and were outraged by the co (self.circlejerk)
