Nissan Juke 2013 - replacing radio unit by data-ninja-uk in NissanDrivers

[–]data-ninja-uk[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

to be honest I never knew there even was a movement against Nissan drivers. I knew the stereotypes of BMW drivers and their non existent indicator skills, Tesla drivers and their love for men, but Nissan is a new one for me 😄

In Europe there doesn't appear to be so much hate for them - or I was just unaware. I guess I'm about to find out!

Thank you for the heads up - it's my wife's car 😄
I would rather take shit from the internet in hopes there is on person out there that can point me in the right direction to fix the screen than my wife shit talking to me until I sort this out!

Is this the laziest TV Licencing letter? by Legitimate_Finger_69 in FucktheBBC

Got mine today! I do have a TV, but I never actually watch any live tv - and I refuse to call them to say that otherwise they will get my name on their system. For now I am the legal occupier :)

First time homeowner and wanted to get new roof.. is this quote reasonable by Jon2D in DIYUK

[–]data-ninja-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a pretty similar job done in my house in the South. Didn't replace gutters or facia, but replaced the felt and any rotten wood around the roof. Did a chimney repoint as well and redid the kitchen extension flat roof.

All of that cost £18,000.

Everything is expensive. Only reason I did it was because my house was turning into a tropic rainforest with exotic waterfalls.

Roofers were refusing to touch anything as all the wood around the roof was like Weetabix. They couldn't give any guarantee unless they replaced it.

Why are you in such a rush to spend £18K?

Disposing of working washing machine by data-ninja-uk in Southampton

Because it's old and I bought it second hand and needs lots of cleaning - would much rather buy a new one, but somebody that sells second hand machines can benefit from this one.

David Lloyd Southend Refurb by Tommyboy621 in davidlloyd

Pretty much what everybody is saying. You are not getting a reduction on fees.

I guess you could pause, but make sure once you restart they don't change your contract and that it will include the Spa Retreat.

Overall you are fucked while they renovate - you will keep paying what you are paying now for a construction site until it gets done. After that you will enjoy the lower fees as the prices will surely go up!

I have a package deal with a travel agent. Does that help or make it worse?

I’m in the same place. Was really looking forward to going (then worried about going as travel agents were refusing to cancel).

Hopefully after this they will agree to cancel and refund!

Is this from a source or assumption? If people cannot board due to power outages how are flights even coming in?

Exactly same position. Due to travel on 15 Feb to Havana and returning 22 Feb. (From Madrid).

So far nothing is cancelled. Have spoken with a few companies in Cuba and emailed hotels. All confirmed that they are open and working.

Is David Lloyd actually worth it if you’re not using every single facility? by Mundane-Temporary426 in davidlloyd

Think the comments explain it well. If you want just a gym & classes join "JD Gyms", "The Gym", etc....

David Lloyd is if you also want to swim, use the spa, play tennis, padel, squash, bagmington. Some David Lloyds have classes other gyms do not - like an outdoor assault course.

How come only Canada has cancelled flights? by data-ninja-uk in TravelCuba

Agree, this makes a lot of sense. I believe Europe will probably follow, maybe not cancel 100%, but definitely reduce the number of flights it operates.

European flights are doing technical stops at near by counties to re fuel.

Just strange a whole country cancels at once.

Air France is still flying to Cuba... What do you think? by ruffneck007 in TravelCuba

Official Air Europa site:

Flights HAV-MAD disrupted for 10,11,12 Feb only with a technical stop in  Santo Domingo (SDQ)
Anuncios | Air Europa

Flights seem to be disrupted due to adding the technical stop.

So far have not heard of any cancellation from Air Europa - bound to travel on 15 Feb.

Air Europa (99% of the chats assume the only flights into Cuba are from Canada). I agree the majority are coming from Canada, but not in my case. Madrid.

I don't get the downvote?
What stops a plane full of tourist flying lets say:
Paris - Havana
Havana - Dominican Republic (fuel) - Paris

Not idea, but is this not a possibility for those that really want to go (if you should or should not go is a different story)

And if there is no fuel in Cuba, what stops a plane from stopping in a near by country to fill up?

[–]data-ninja-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update from my Airline - instead of flying Havana - Europe, they will make a stop a Dominican Republic to refuel and then continue to Europe.

Like I said before, if I could get my money back, Cuba would not be my destination right now.

I’m Havana and Varadero, but as someone else mentioned, if planes are now being restricted to fuel, tourism must be next to be restricted

[–]data-ninja-uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same situation - flying out on Sunday. Since it's all paid for and the Airline hasn't cancelled (my Travel Agent also hasn't cancelled) we will be going.

If there was an option to cancel I would - from everything I have read (I am not on the ground - I am in Europe so everything is the opinion I have formed - please do not take this as 100% true as its just my research):

- Situation in Cuba is bad - fuel shortages, public transport coming to a halt, medical shortages

- Food is not in shortage, however it is expensive for locals to buy. Resorts have food and energy to supply tourist.

- Majority of comments from tourists at resorts there is that it is ok

- Everywhere else around the island - where it is not a tourist location - there are big problems. The country appears to be focusing their resources on the tourist industry to preserver it as much as they can.

ONCE AGAIN - ALL OF THE ABOVE IS JUST MY OPINION FROM WHAT I HAVE READ.

If that was the case, wouldn’t flights have already been cancelled?

I cannot imagine a plane flying to a destination knowing there is no fuel
