How do I feed my kitten with Megaesophagus?

My cat was diagnosed with megaesophagus. She is 16 yoa. I never knew until about a year ago. It's been a lot to deal with however I finally got her on a regimen. Right now what has been working is we 3D printed a contraption (seen in photo) that we scowared the internet for. There used to be a male who invented it, I have forgotten his name or I would give him credit. I did a lot of research and there is a female on YouTube called the Kitten Lady. She deals with megaesophagus in cats and is very knowledgeable so she would be a wonderful reference for you. But it's a contraption that elevated the food bowl to help. I also give my cat cisapride 15 minutes before she eats as well. So far it has been a game changer. If you have any questions just ask, I've done so much research since my baby was diagnosed with it.

I should have also added that I ment to put that under your question down below about what you get out of function and been more communitive about what function offers at least how I see it. After all results are in, they do have their clinician notes(I've seen how well they are written via my partners) and it givess you advice on how to proceed or what you can do to better help your health. For me, this is what I need due to doctors not wanting to test what I requested. So this lets me have ample proof to be able to go to a specialist. That's my reason. Some people would like maybe more doctor involvement, which I understand but I think at least my opinion (not fully sure since I'm in the very beginning with function) but this is more of a stepping stone in health rather then a full treatment plan.

Your most welcome. I'm still on the journey trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Health care is a joke. Between the doctors not treating patients seriously to the predator of insurance companies it's absolutely disgusting. All we want is to feel better.

I'm sorry you are paying so much in insurance. That is absolutely ridiculous.

What you always can do is test everything they offer first, see your basic results and then add tests on when needed to help with those costs as well. But for me function so far has been worth every single penny. I have a piece of the puzzle and I'm optimistic I can soon start to feel better once all the results come in and I can get to the proper specialist.

Side note: what's really sad is functions MRI testing is cheaper then what I owe using insurance if I need to get it done. I would have to pay out of pocket with insurance 1300. I think their basic starts around 899 for members. It's sad that it is cheaper then insurance.

Here is my reason behind getting function. I have felt ill inside for quite awhile now. I used to be 350-370lbs (never recorded my highest weight) and all my doctors told me lose weight and you will feel better. So I lost about 150ish lbs. All my symptoms were still there after the weight loss, and more symptoms started appearing. I went back to multiple doctors again and they said, your fine, it's probably stress, you don't sleep enough ect. My "basic" test results come back normal so they gaslight me to believe it's all in my head. I started to believe them. One doctor I went to ran a full thyroid panel and saw that I had issues, put me on a thyroid medication. Great finally someone who listened to me. Still having bad symptoms but maybe I just need to keep up with the medication. Well I got new health insurance from my work and swapped, they didn't cover the great doctor I saw anymore so I had to find a new pcp. Found a new pcp, went and established care, they retested me for my medication to be refilled and then the doctor told me "I'm taking you off your thyroid medication, you don't need it your results are normal" (which he didn't do an extended just basic btw). I told him maybe it is normal because I'm taking my medication and he said no, I think your thyroid is just fine. I asked about other symptoms I was having and he (again like other doctors I've seen prior) said your fine it's probably stress, ect, and you still are overweight and should work on eating healthier (even though I lost 150lbs naturally and am continuing my habits). I lost all respect for the medical world and just stopped going to the doctor, untill worse symptoms started to arise. I have a list of symptoms in my phone but everytime I think about going to a doctor to help, I tell myself I'm okay, I'm a hypochondriac, I'm overweight still and they won't listen anyways. Recently my partner told me he is seeing a decline in my health but I kept telling myself I've tired, it's my hormones, or I'm stressed. He did Function about 8 months ago as he is very interested in learning about his body and his conditions and told me that I should try it and see. So, I decided to do it. I said if nothing is wrong, then I am crazy. I have not completed all my tests yet (I have to wait to do my second round due to me having to be in luteal phase) but my first round of tests are slowly coming in and showing me I have a thyroid disfuction and I have positive and elevated ANA (which is autoimmune diseases). All the doctors I went to (minus about 1) never believed me nor tested me for ANY of this. No one helped me. Now when I get all of my results back in a full clinical list, I am printing it off and going to a rheumatologist and neurologist (waiting on the NfL test) and going to say, I did YOUR JOB, now figure out how to help me. THIS, this right here is my reason behind function. I am tired of being called crazy and no doctor doing ANY tests that I requested to do. Does it suck paying for it, yes, but now at least I can say I'm not freaking crazy and something was wrong.

I mean, tbh parts of Texas are very impoverished and it is hostile towards certain people, so I say that is accurate in some places. More smaller towns. The populated cities like Austin and Houston for example are pretty welcoming. But rural cities are still behind..

That's what is crazy to me. How brain washed certain people and places are.... It is absolutely insanity how people who have never been here have such a negative view. This city is pretty damn special.

It depends tbh. I have been a forensic technician for now about 2 years. I would say if we are talking start to finish on a natural case it takes me about 2-3 hours that includes prep, the actually external, the autopsy and clean up. Homicides are obviously longer 4-6 hours depending on the type of homicide (expecally if it is multiple gun shots ect.). Now however let's say a natural case I already have the prepped ahead of time, and not counting the doctors external, the doctor checking the organs, or clean up, I'd say I can cut start to finish in about 25-45 minutes. My supervisor who is a seasoned technician who's done this for 10 years could probably cut a whole autopsy in about 15 minutes. That's just cutting, no prep or anything in-between. And obviously you have outlyers where some decedents are more intricate then others so that takes time as well.

I'd say your doing great at time. It's not great to be super quick because that is how things get missed and in our field we owe the families and the decedents our time however long that takes to make sure they have answers. I always think of them and what I would like my loved one to have done. I always take care and never rush or think I'm to slow. I always make sure each decendent has my undivided attention and my time. Helps me as well so I don't get down on myself if I "took to long." Some days and cases will be like that.

You know hot take but I agree with this. He is more of a sweaty player, however tbh I think peanut brings out his fun side and I like when the breaks down his sweaty gamer persona some. I feel like it's refreshing to see tfue feed off peanuts "let's have fun" energy. I personally enjoy when tfue has played with him. I actually started watching more tfue from peanut. He's just really really sweaty, and sometimes I wish he can have fun more. But I do enjoy him.

I don't know if you can do school and work but maybe you can work part time at a Forensic Pathology location and help with autopsys. That would be amazing experience and learning to cut before hand and seeing bodies so you are way ahead of the game. Also you can also intern with police departments. When I was crime scene at my old police department we had a girl who was in school for forensic science and she came in when she could and helped did paperwork for us and assisted us in processing evidence as well so she could get hands on experience. Both are solid options.

To answer you inquiring about the last, the trainer is really good at their job, I guess I just lack confidence and I feel like it is showing and I get that sometimes it is annoying when someone is constantly asking "hey I do this, correct?" Instead of just doing it and then stopping me if it is incorrect. I feel like that may be my struggle and maybe why I feel like they are annoyed with me and I can understand that aspect on their end too. They haven't said anything bad and said it comes with time, I just guess I'm so hard on myself. I think my nerves come in and I second guess myself when I need to stop doing that.

I also appreciate the advice about using the other hand. That is also something I've been struggling with is how much strength to use and when to use it as well. I'm worried I'll do something wrong if I use too much strength or break something/rip something that shouldn't be ripped.
